Laboratory Supervisor Jobs in New Hampshire: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a laboratory supervisor in New Hampshire?
To become a laboratory supervisor in New Hampshire, you typically need a bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or a related discipline, followed by certification through ASCP or a equivalent body, and several years of bench experience. New Hampshire clinical laboratories operating under CLIA and overseen by the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services expect supervisors to meet federal personnel standards for high-complexity testing, so your education and certification tier must align with the lab's complexity designation.
How much do laboratory supervisors make in New Hampshire?
Laboratory supervisors in New Hampshire earn a median of about $134,010 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $92,600 for the lowest 10% to over $220,150 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire laboratory supervisors in New Hampshire?
Companies currently hiring laboratory supervisors in New Hampshire include Dartmouth Health, Dartmouth College, and Speare Memorial Hospital, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. New Hampshire's hospital systems and environmental testing firms tend to be the most consistent sources of laboratory supervisor openings across the state.
Which New Hampshire cities have the most laboratory supervisor jobs?
Keene, Lebanon, and Plymouth have the most laboratory supervisor openings in New Hampshire. Manchester and Nashua lead because of their concentration of hospital systems, outpatient laboratory networks, and light manufacturing and biotech employers, while Concord's state government agencies and regional medical center anchor hiring in the capital area.
Are there remote laboratory supervisor jobs in New Hampshire?
Yes, but they're rare. About 0% of laboratory supervisor openings tied to New Hampshire are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting that most supervisory duties require physical presence on the lab floor. The portions of the role most likely to allow remote work include administrative tasks such as scheduling, compliance reporting, and staff training documentation.
How can I get hired as a laboratory supervisor in New Hampshire with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is to build bench experience as a medical laboratory technician or technologist at a New Hampshire hospital or reference lab, then pursue a lead or senior tech role before stepping into a supervisory position. Large employers such as Dartmouth Health and Elliot Hospital often post internal progression opportunities, and earning ASCP certification while in a technologist role signals readiness for supervisory responsibility to New Hampshire hiring managers.
