- Perform other project logistics and transition support duties as assigned.

Logistics Specialist Jobs in Hawaii: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a logistics specialist in Hawaii?
Hawaii does not require a state-issued license specifically for logistics specialists, so entry typically starts with a relevant degree in supply chain management, business, or operations paired with hands-on experience. Employers in Hawaii, particularly those supporting military contracts or ocean freight, prioritize candidates familiar with interisland and transpacific shipping. Certifications from APICS such as the Certified Supply Chain Professional credential are widely recognized by Hawaii hiring managers and strengthen any application considerably.
Which companies hire logistics specialists in Hawaii?
Companies currently hiring logistics specialists in Hawaii include CACI International, Leidos, and TireHub, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Hawaii's reliance on ocean freight and its large military footprint mean that defense contractors, retail distributors, and freight carriers are consistently among the most active employers in the state.
Which Hawaii cities have the most logistics specialist jobs?
The cities with the most logistics specialist openings in Hawaii are Honolulu, ‘Aiea, and Maui. Honolulu dominates because it is home to the Port of Honolulu, major retail distribution centers, and Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, while Maui and the neighbor island markets are driven by resort supply chains and interisland freight operations that require dedicated on-the-ground logistics coordination.
Are there remote logistics specialist jobs in Hawaii?
Yes, but they are rare. About 0% of logistics specialist openings tied to Hawaii are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the hands-on, site-dependent nature of most logistics work in a state built around ports, warehouses, and military installations. The portions of the role most likely to be performed remotely are procurement coordination, data analysis, and vendor communication rather than warehouse or freight floor operations.
How can I get hired as a logistics specialist in Hawaii with little or no experience?
The most realistic starting point is an entry-level warehouse associate or shipping coordinator role with a major Hawaii distributor like Matson or a large retailer such as Costco Hawaii, where internal advancement pathways exist for motivated candidates. The Defense Logistics Agency and other military support contractors on Oahu also hire logistics technicians and supply clerks as entry points into full specialist roles. Earning an APICS Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution credential early signals commitment and gives candidates without experience a concrete edge over other applicants.
Where can I find and apply to logistics specialist jobs in Hawaii?
You can find and apply to logistics specialist jobs in Hawaii on Migrate Mate, which lists current Hawaii openings across industries and experience levels. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match.
