Job Summary:
The Senior Manager, Management Consulting is part of the People Strategy and Solutions team. This role works under the authority of the Segment and Practice Leaders and is responsible for managing and delivering high value, people focused strategies and solutions to multiple clients through an interdisciplinary approach that includes the following service areas: :

In this role, the Senior Manager, Management Consulting is working in close collaboration and partnership with others and is responsible for ensuring exceptional client service and high-quality engagement deliverables. The Senior Manager, Management Consulting is also responsible for developing new business with existing clients and prospects of the Firm, including the identification of target companies and existing business development support.
Job Duties:
Delivering Consulting
• Drives, exceptional, high quality client outcomes
• Operates as a trusted advisor to clients, demonstrating solid business acumen, strategic and holistic thinking, executive presence, and an ability to connect dots, notice nuances, and spot patterns and opportunities within and across different client contexts
• Acts as a key contact for clients regarding all questions and information, including progress, challenges encountered, and issues identified
• Provides unique insights regarding people and organizational dynamics. Translates knowledge of industry trends into sustainable, customized strategies and solutions for clients
• Develops compelling content. Writes and synthesizes content in a variety of styles/formats that connects and inspires diverse audiences
• Responsible for the preparation of formal and informal presentations for client meetings for status and reporting purposes
• Prepares for, facilitates, and synthesizes outputs from client
Managing Consulting
• Oversees, guides, and mentors managers and team members on client delivery and consulting excellence
• Ensures the client delivery team provides exceptional client service and develops advanced level deliverables and/or solutions to client issues and opportunities
• Ensures the preparation of periodic and timely client billing, and ensures timely adjustments to revenue forecast and engagement realization, as needed
• Directs multiple client engagements and underlying economics to ensure engagement metrics are achieved
• Ensures the development of efficient and effective project plans and project controls
• Fosters a positive demeanor, learning attitude and client service mentality with managers, seniors and staff
Selling Consulting
• Identifies, grows and maintains strategic relationships with current and prospective clients
• Identifies new business opportunities to expand the Management Consulting practice and communicates such opportunities to his/her peers and practice leadership
• Works closely with the practice leadership to manage marketing and business development activities within practice (e.g. developing whitepapers, refreshing marketing materials and website content etc..)
• Oversees the development of draft proposals and reports, and completes research, when needed
• Collaborates with not only MC leaders to service clients and expand our presence in the marketplace, but also other practice leaders to bring the best solutions to our clients and prospects
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Supervises workload and deliverable quality of team members staffed to their projects. Provides feedback to team members staffed to their projects
• May serve as a Career Advisor
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree, required; focus in Human Resources, Communications, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or Business, preferred
• MBA or Masters Degree in Human Resources, Communications, or Industrial/Organizational Psychology, preferred
Experience:
• Ten (10) or more years of experience within an internal or external consulting or industry experience delivering people strategy, talent development, organizational effectiveness, workforce/HR transformation, employee communications, and/or change management work, required.
• Experience with a consulting firm, preferred
• Experience with project management, change management, stakeholder management, gap analysis, process design, organization design and development, and/or talent development, preferred
• Experience successfully managing multiple client projects and/or pursuits and proposal efforts, preferred
License/Certification:
• N/A
Software:
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Power Point, preferred
• Proficiency in whiteboarding and visualization tools such as Miro, preferred
• Familiarity with various business communication channels and platforms, preferred
• Experience with CRM and other business management software, preferred

• Solid understanding and experience planning and coordinating all stages of consulting delivery
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to adapt style and messaging to effectively communicate with professionals at all levels both within the client organization and the firm

• Ability to collaborate with partners and managers within other service lines and industries, as well as Advisory leaders
• Strong analytical and diagnostic skills and ability to simplify complex issues and recommend solutions
• Capable of working in a demanding, deadline driven environment with a focus on details and accuracy
• Solid project management skills
• Executive presence to act as primary contact for clients while preparing and presenting to clients and potential clients
• Capable of resolving complex business issues and proactive problem solving
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and client contacts
• Ability to travel 25%, as needed
Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
National Range: $105,000 - $190,000
Maryland Range: $105,000 - $190,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $105,000 - $190,000
