INTRODUCTION
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is building developer tool products that help engineering teams create software with greater speed, quality, and confidence. This role will focus on the Develop phase of the software development lifecycle, with a major emphasis on improving the developer experience across planning, coding, collaboration, code review, testing, debugging, documentation, onboarding, and service comprehension.
We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead product strategy and execution for OCI Developer Tool Products focused on how OCI customers and internal engineering teams use modern cloud-native and AI-native tools to develop, release, and operate software more effectively.
A central part of this role will be helping development teams transition to AI-native software development practices. You will identify where AI can meaningfully reduce friction, improve productivity, raise code quality, accelerate onboarding, and help developers better understand complex systems. You will work closely with engineering, UX, platform teams, security, compliance, and customers to define product direction, prioritize high-impact investments, and deliver tools that make development more intuitive, efficient, and intelligent.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of professional experience in product management, technical product strategy, or related roles
- Experience building or managing developer experience products, developer tools, cloud platforms, IDE integrations, source control workflows, code review systems, test automation, internal developer platforms, or engineering productivity products
- Strong understanding of developer workflows in the Develop phase of the SDLC, including planning, coding, local development, branching strategies, pull requests, code review, testing, debugging, documentation, and onboarding
- Experience working with engineering teams on technically complex products and translating developer needs into clear product requirements, roadmaps, and execution plans
- Ability to define product strategy across multiple related product areas and align stakeholders around measurable developer experience outcomes
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development, generative AI, agentic workflows, developer copilots, automation, or AI/ML product capabilities
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to use product usage data, developer feedback, productivity metrics, and business goals to guide prioritization
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior technical and business stakeholders
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, internal developer platforms, or enterprise-scale software development environments
- Experience launching 0-to-1 products or modernizing established developer experience products
- Understanding of AI-native development patterns, including AI-assisted coding, repository-aware agents, code explanation, automated code review, test generation, debugging assistance, documentation generation, and workflow automation
- Experience with security, compliance, governance, or audit requirements in enterprise development workflows
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Responsibilities
- Define the product strategy and roadmap for OCI Developer Tool Products focused on improving the developer experience in the Develop phase of the SDLC
- Identify high-value opportunities to reduce friction across developer workflows, including coding, local development, code review, testing, debugging, onboarding, documentation, and service comprehension
- Lead the transition toward AI-native development practices by defining product capabilities that help developers work more effectively with AI-assisted and agentic tools
- Partner with engineering, UX, security, compliance, and internal platform teams to shape developer experiences that work for both individual developers and large engineering organizations
- Translate complex developer needs into clear product requirements, success metrics, and phased delivery plans
- Drive customer discovery with internal and external developers to understand pain points, validate product direction, and measure improvements in developer experience
- Prioritize product investments using developer impact, adoption data, technical feasibility, business value, and strategic alignment
- Define requirements for AI-assisted development workflows, including coding assistants, repository-aware agents, automated review, test generation, documentation support, debugging assistance, and development workflow automation
- Establish feedback mechanisms that connect developer behavior, tool usage, code quality, review patterns, and productivity signals back into product planning
- Collaborate with documentation, enablement, support, and go-to-market teams to ensure successful adoption of new developer tooling capabilities
- Measure product success through adoption, engagement, developer satisfaction, productivity improvements, reduced development friction, and code quality signals
- Help shape the future of software development on OCI by making the developer experience more intelligent, efficient, reliable, and AI-native.
