Marketing And Events Coordinator Jobs in New Jersey: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing and events coordinator in New Jersey?
Most marketing and events coordinator roles in New Jersey require a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or event management. No state-issued license is required for this role in New Jersey. Employers in the state typically expect hands-on experience gained through internships, campus event committees, or entry-level marketing assistant roles, particularly with New Jersey-based corporations, nonprofit associations, or hospitality groups that run regular events.
Which companies hire marketing and events coordinators in New Jersey?
Companies currently hiring marketing and events coordinators in New Jersey include GumGum, Versant, and Safilo USA, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026. New Jersey's mix of Fortune 500 headquarters in the pharmaceutical, financial services, and technology sectors makes it one of the more active states for corporate events and integrated marketing roles.
Which New Jersey cities have the most marketing and events coordinator jobs?
Newark, Roseland, and Secaucus account for the largest share of marketing and events coordinator openings in New Jersey. Newark and Jersey City draw volume from corporate headquarters and the convention and hospitality industries tied to the greater New York metro, while Princeton and its surrounding corridor benefit from the pharmaceutical and biotech sector's consistent need for conference and events staff.
Are there remote marketing and events coordinator jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, though they are less common than in purely digital fields because event coordination regularly requires on-site presence. About 50% of marketing and events coordinator openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of November 2026, with the remote portion applying mainly to the marketing and campaign management side of the role rather than hands-on event production and venue work.
How can I get hired as a marketing and events coordinator in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a marketing assistant or events assistant role at one of New Jersey's large hospitality groups, nonprofit associations, or corporate communications departments. Many candidates break in through internships at Newark-area convention venues, Atlantic City resort properties, or the marketing arms of major New Jersey-based pharmaceutical companies. Building a portfolio of campus events, volunteer coordination work, or freelance promotional projects strengthens early applications considerably.
