Marketing And Events Coordinator Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing and events coordinator in Washington?
Most Washington employers hire marketing and events coordinators who hold a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or event management, though some accept equivalent work experience. Washington does not require a state-issued license for this role. Building a portfolio of event projects or campaigns, earning certifications such as the Certified Meeting Professional from Events Industry Council, and gaining experience through internships or coordinator assistant roles at Washington's universities, tech companies, or healthcare systems are the most reliable paths into the field.
Which companies hire marketing and events coordinators in Washington?
Companies currently hiring marketing and events coordinators in Washington include Xnurta, Amazon, and Grundens USA, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Washington's concentration of technology headquarters, regional healthcare systems, and large research universities creates steady and diverse demand for coordinators who can manage both corporate and community-facing programs.
Which Washington cities have the most marketing and events coordinator jobs?
Seattle, Bellevue, and Poulsbo account for the most marketing and events coordinator openings in Washington. Seattle anchors the market as home to major technology companies, convention facilities, and nonprofit organizations, while Bellevue's growing corporate campus presence drives strong demand on the Eastside, and Tacoma's public institutions and healthcare sector add consistent openings in the south Puget Sound region.
Are there remote marketing and events coordinator jobs in Washington?
Yes, though availability is mixed because much of the role involves on-site event execution. About 100% of marketing and events coordinator openings tied to Washington are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting a split between employers who need in-person presence and those focused on digital campaign work. The portions most likely to be remote are content creation, digital marketing strategy, and pre-event planning, while day-of coordination and vendor management typically require on-site attendance.
How can I get hired as a marketing and events coordinator in Washington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an internship or coordinator assistant role, both of which Washington's universities, tech companies, and health systems post regularly. Institutions such as the University of Washington and Washington State University run internship programs that place students with regional employers. Lateral moves from adjacent roles in administrative coordination, social media management, or communications support are common and valued. A documented portfolio of even small events or campaigns, combined with a certification from the Events Industry Council, gives candidates a measurable edge over other applicants without direct experience.
Where can I find and apply to marketing and events coordinator jobs in Washington?
You can find and apply to marketing and events coordinator jobs in Washington on Migrate Mate, which lists current Washington openings updated regularly. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level, preferred location, and industry focus, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
