Marketing And Events Coordinator Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing and events coordinator in New York?
A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or hospitality management is the standard entry point for this role in New York. No state-issued license is required, but employers in New York City especially favor candidates who have completed internships with agencies, cultural institutions, or corporate marketing departments. Building a portfolio of event recaps, campaign results, and vendor management examples strengthens applications at every stage.
Which companies hire marketing and events coordinators in New York?
Employers hiring marketing and events coordinators in New York right now include Atera, Cadent, and Google, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New York's density of financial institutions, media companies, and cultural nonprofits means consistent hiring across a wide range of industries and organization sizes throughout the year.
Which New York cities have the most marketing and events coordinator jobs?
New York, Rochester, and Geneva have the most marketing and events coordinator openings in New York. New York City drives the largest share of listings thanks to its concentration of corporate headquarters, advertising agencies, and major cultural institutions, while Albany and Buffalo generate steady demand from state government agencies, universities, and regional healthcare systems that run ongoing events and marketing programs.
Are there remote marketing and events coordinator jobs in New York?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely digital roles because a meaningful portion of the work involves on-site logistics, venue walkthroughs, and vendor coordination. About 50% of marketing and events coordinator openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those positions tend to focus on the campaign planning, content creation, and digital marketing components of the role rather than live event execution.
How can I get hired as a marketing and events coordinator in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an internship or coordinator assistant role at a New York cultural institution, agency, or corporate marketing department, where structured mentorship is common. Large New York employers such as universities, hospital systems, and financial firms regularly hire event and marketing assistants as a stepping stone into full coordinator roles. A candidate with a completed internship portfolio, proficiency in project management software, and demonstrated experience managing a small event independently stands out significantly over candidates with coursework alone.
