Marketing Director Jobs in Oregon: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing director in Oregon?
Marketing directors in Oregon are not required to hold a state-issued license or credential. The typical path is a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or communications, followed by several years building up through roles like marketing manager or senior marketing manager. Oregon employers, especially in tech and consumer goods, increasingly value demonstrated expertise in digital strategy, and a portfolio of measurable campaign outcomes carries significant weight in hiring decisions here.
How much do marketing directors make in Oregon?
Marketing directors in Oregon earn a median of about $161,560 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $93,220 for the lowest 10% to over $280,020 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire marketing directors in Oregon?
Oregon marketing director roles are posted by Cascade Living, Mi-Case, and No Worries Care and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Oregon's mix of global consumer brands, health systems, and growing B2B software companies means openings appear across a wide range of industries statewide.
Which Oregon cities have the most marketing director jobs?
Portland, Bend, and Beaverton have the most marketing director openings in Oregon. Portland dominates because it is home to Nike's global headquarters, a dense cluster of tech and software companies, and large health systems like Providence and OHSU, while Bend and Eugene generate openings through their expanding professional services, outdoor recreation, and university-adjacent industries.
Are there remote marketing director jobs in Oregon?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 67% of marketing director openings tied to Oregon are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the role centers on strategy, content, and digital work that travels well. Brand and performance marketing functions tend to be the most remote-friendly, while roles tied to events, local retail, or on-site creative production are more likely to require regular in-person time.
How can I get hired as a marketing director in Oregon with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is to build depth in one channel first, such as digital advertising, content, or email, through coordinator or specialist roles, then move into a marketing manager position before targeting director-level openings. Oregon employers like Nike, Intel, and Providence Health run rotational or associate programs that develop marketers internally. A portfolio showing measurable results, even from small budgets or agency-side work, consistently opens doors faster than tenure alone in Oregon's competitive marketing market.
Where can I find and apply to marketing director jobs in Oregon?
You can find and apply to marketing director jobs in Oregon on Migrate Mate, which lists current Oregon openings updated regularly. Search the roles available, find the ones that match your background and goals, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
