Marketing Jobs in Montana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing in Montana?
Marketing in Montana does not require a state-issued license or registration, so the path runs through education and demonstrated experience. Most employers expect at least a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field, with Montana State University and the University of Montana both offering strong programs. Building a portfolio of campaigns, earning widely recognized certifications such as Google Analytics or HubSpot Content Marketing, and targeting entry roles at Montana's larger healthcare systems, universities, or regional agencies is the most direct route.
Which companies hire marketings in Montana?
Montana marketing roles are posted by Granite Peak Home Health, Big Sky Boyne Resort, and University of Providence and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Montana's healthcare systems, universities, and outdoor and tourism brands tend to post the most consistent openings across the state.
Which Montana cities have the most marketing jobs?
Missoula, Big Sky, and Billings lead Montana for marketing openings. Billings dominates as the state's largest city and commercial hub, anchored by healthcare systems and regional corporate offices, while Missoula and Bozeman drive demand through their university communities, technology firms, and outdoor industry brands that rely heavily on content and digital marketing talent.
Are there remote marketing jobs in Montana?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 40% of marketing openings tied to Montana are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves digital tools that function equally well anywhere. Content strategy, SEO, paid media management, and email marketing roles are the most likely to be posted as fully remote, while brand and events-focused positions tend to require more in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a marketing in Montana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to coordinator or marketing assistant roles at Montana's larger institutions, where structured onboarding is common. Billings Clinic, Montana State University, and the University of Montana regularly bring on entry-level marketing staff and student workers who can transition to full roles. Building a portfolio through freelance projects for local nonprofits or small businesses, earning a Google Analytics or HubSpot certification, and targeting adjacent roles such as communications assistant or social media coordinator gives candidates a concrete edge with Montana employers.
Where can I find and apply to marketing jobs in Montana?
You can find and apply to marketing jobs in Montana on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to Montana employers and locations. Search the listings to find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match your experience and location preference.
