Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging classroom instruction tailored to students’ diverse learning styles and cultural backgrounds, ensuring understanding of key mathematical concepts such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, differential equations, and discrete math.
• Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project-based evaluations; provide timely feedback to support continuous improvement.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment conducive to academic achievement.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum implementation, instructional design, and educational research initiatives to enhance teaching strategies.
• Incorporate laboratory experiences when applicable, including dissection or research laboratory activities related to biochemistry or molecular biology topics.
• Engage in ongoing professional development related to teaching science and math subjects, including the integration of learning technology and new pedagogical approaches.

Qualifications

• Proven experience teaching middle or high school students in a classroom setting with a focus on mathematics or science subjects.
• Strong knowledge of mathematical disciplines such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, discrete math, and their applications in real-world contexts.
• Familiarity with curriculum development and implementation aligned with educational standards and regulations.
• Experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds and adapting instruction accordingly.
• Excellent communication skills paired with classroom management expertise to foster an engaging learning environment.
• Laboratory experience or research laboratory experience related to biochemistry, microbiology, genetics or molecular biology is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to utilize educational technology tools effectively for lesson planning and delivering IT-integrated lessons.
• Demonstrated ability in tutoring, mentoring students, and supporting their academic growth through personalized instruction.
• Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and educational compliance requirements relevant to secondary education.
