Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Duties

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status examinations, and risk assessments to inform diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Prescribe medications in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements, ensuring safe and effective pharmacological management.
• Administer psychotherapy modalities tailored to individual patient needs, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and supportive counseling.
• Manage acute psychiatric crises by providing immediate interventions and coordinating with emergency services or inpatient units as necessary.
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and medication management.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, primary care providers, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop integrated care plans.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and community resources.
• Participate in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects aimed at advancing psychiatric care standards.

Experience

• Valid state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing (PMHNP-BC or equivalent).
• Proven experience providing psychiatric care in diverse settings such as outpatient clinics, hospitals, or telehealth platforms.
• Familiarity with medication management including psychopharmacology principles and drug interactions.
• Experience working with special populations including children, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
• Knowledge of behavioral health assessment tools and diagnostic coding systems such as ICD-10.
• Prior exposure to emergency psychiatry or crisis intervention in Level I Trauma Centers or acute care environments is highly desirable.
• Competence in using EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or Athenahealth for medical documentation and patient tracking.
• Strong communication skills for effective client engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Pay: $106,639.30 - $128,425.81 per year
