SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center adult service line is looking for an experienced nurse practitioner to provide outpatient services for individuals 18 years of age or older for our North East Drive Clinic in Hershey, PA. The program is currently looking to recruit a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMH-CRNP) for an open full-time position. Our ideal candidate will be Pennsylvania licensed and have 2-3 years of experience providing psychiatric care.
General duties of the outpatient aspect of the position will include evaluations, medication management, and interaction with clinical and physician staff. Requires 2-3 years of experience working with the chronically mentally ill and experience with a broad spectrum of diagnosis and medication management.
The Nurse Practitioner functions as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team and provides a wide range of patient services to a specific patient population across the continuum of healthcare. By utilizing the nursing process, scientific reasoning, and critical problem-solving, NPs practice within the scope of responsibilities and prescriptive authority defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- Masters Degree in Nursing with clinical specialization required.
- Two (2) years' work experience as a RN required.
- Current licensed to practice as a CRNP by Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
- Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
