OB/GYN Physician Jobs in Arizona: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a ob/gyn physician in Arizona?
To practice as an ob/gyn physician in Arizona, you must hold a full and unrestricted medical license issued by the Arizona Medical Board, which requires graduation from an accredited medical school, completion of an ACGME-accredited ob/gyn residency, and passing scores on the USMLE or COMLEX sequence. Board certification through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology strengthens your application significantly and is required by most Arizona hospital systems for privileges.
How much do OB/GYN physicians make in Arizona?
OB/GYN physicians in Arizona earn a median of about $369,720 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $217,940 for the lowest 10% to over $455,520 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire ob/gyn physicians in Arizona?
Employers hiring ob/gyn physicians in Arizona right now include Adelante Healthcare, Sun Life Health, and Unified Women’s Healthcare, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Arizona's large integrated health systems and multispecialty physician groups tend to recruit continuously given the state's rapid population growth and high birth rates in the greater Phoenix and Tucson corridors.
Which Arizona cities have the most ob/gyn physician jobs?
The cities with the most ob/gyn physician openings in Arizona are Phoenix, Mesa, and Gilbert. Phoenix drives the largest share of demand given its concentration of major hospital campuses, Level III and IV maternal care centers, and the corporate headquarters of Banner Health and HonorHealth, while Tucson's volume is anchored by Banner University Medical Center and a growing network of community health clinics serving southern Arizona.
Are there remote ob/gyn physician jobs in Arizona?
Yes, but they're rare. Ob/gyn physician work is inherently hands-on, requiring direct patient examination, surgical procedures, and labor and delivery coverage, so the vast majority of roles are fully on-site. About 50% of ob/gyn physician openings tied to Arizona are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions are almost exclusively in telehealth triage, administrative medical director functions, or chart review and utilization management rather than clinical practice.
How can I get hired as a ob/gyn physician in Arizona with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to residency-to-employment pipeline programs at large Arizona health systems, particularly Banner Health and Dignity Health, which regularly recruit graduating residents into first attending positions. Newly credentialed physicians without post-residency attending experience should target community health center roles or locum tenens assignments through Arizona-based groups to build procedure volume and references, then transition to permanent staff positions once they have clinical documentation that satisfies hospital privileging committees.
Where can I find and apply to ob/gyn physician jobs in Arizona?
You can find and apply to ob/gyn physician jobs in Arizona on Migrate Mate, which lists current Arizona openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, identify the positions that match your specialty and preferred practice setting, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
