Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and balance sheet analyses in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Process payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and payroll standards.
- Maintain detailed financial records, including expense reports, invoices, receipts, and financial reports.
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or errors in financial data; perform account reconciliation regularly to ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate with external auditors or accountants during audits or tax preparation periods to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Skills
- Extensive experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or similar financial software.
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, and public accounting procedures.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) for data analysis and report generation.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits, due to and due from and general ledger reconciliation.
- Experience with payroll processing and tax compliance related to payroll taxes.
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, and account reconciliation efficiently.
- Familiarity with technical accounting concepts such as account analysis and general ledger accounting.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills for clear financial report writing.
