Job Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, inspecting, organizing, and distributing incoming parts, supplies, equipment, and dealership merchandise. This position ensures that shipments are accurately processed, inventory is properly documented, and parts and materials are delivered to the appropriate departments in a timely manner. The position works closely with the Parts, Service, Sales, and Accounting departments to maintain an organized and efficient dealership operation.

Primary Responsibilities

• Receive incoming shipments from Subaru and other vendors.
• Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices.
• Inspect incoming parts and materials for damage, shortages, incorrect quantities, or incorrect items.
• Enter and maintain receiving information in the dealership's parts/inventory management system.
• Label, organize, and properly store incoming parts and merchandise.
• Distribute parts and supplies to the Parts Department, Service Department, technicians, and other dealership personnel.
• Prepare outgoing shipments, returns, cores, warranty parts, and vendor returns.
• Process and document damaged, incorrect, or missing items and communicate discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of received and shipped merchandise.
• Assist with daily inventory organization and stockroom cleanliness.
• Maintain proper storage and organization of Subaru Genuine Parts and other dealership supplies.
• Coordinate with delivery drivers, freight companies, vendors, and dealership personnel.
• Load and unload deliveries safely using appropriate equipment.
• Follow dealership procedures for handling warranty parts, returns, and cores.
• Assist with periodic inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Ensure shipping and receiving areas remain clean, safe, and organized.
• Follow all dealership safety policies and OSHA-related workplace procedures.
• Operate computers, scanners, printers, pallet jacks, and other shipping/receiving equipment as required.
• Protect customer, dealership, and vendor property while handling parts and merchandise.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, automotive parts, or dealership experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Basic computer and data-entry skills.
• Ability to read and understand purchase orders, invoices, packing slips, and shipping documents.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to lift and move parts and packages as required.
• Ability to work independently while also working effectively with Parts, Service, and other dealership departments.
• Valid driver's license
