Patient Care Manager Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a patient care manager in Florida?
Most patient care manager roles in Florida require an active registered nurse license issued or endorsed through the Florida Board of Nursing, which administers the NCLEX-RN. Employers typically expect a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at minimum, though some home health and assisted living networks accept an associate degree combined with supervisory experience. Gaining experience in a charge nurse or care coordinator role first is the most common path into management in Florida.
Which companies hire patient care managers in Florida?
Employers hiring patient care managers in Florida right now include DaVita, Fresenius Medical Care, and U.S. Renal Care, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's concentration of large hospital systems, home health chains, and memory care networks means hiring is consistent year-round rather than seasonal.
Which Florida cities have the most patient care manager jobs?
Ocala, Orlando, and Miami have the most patient care manager openings in Florida. Miami and Tampa anchor the market through their dense networks of hospital systems and home health agencies, while Orlando's rapid population growth has made AdventHealth and Orlando Health major continuous hirers that push strong demand in the central Florida corridor.
Are there remote patient care manager jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they're rare. The role is predominantly hands-on and site-based because it involves direct oversight of clinical staff and patient interactions. About 2% of patient care manager openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions are almost exclusively in utilization review, telephonic case management, or care coordination for managed care organizations.
How can I get hired as a patient care manager in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a bedside or field role into a patient care coordinator or charge nurse position, then applying internally. Large Florida systems such as HCA Florida Healthcare and AdventHealth run nurse residency and leadership development programs designed for clinicians making the transition to management. Earning a Florida Board of Nursing license early, then adding a certification such as the Nurse Executive credential, signals readiness to Florida hiring managers before formal management experience is on your resume.
Where can I find and apply to patient care manager jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to patient care manager jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings updated regularly. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience, location, and specialty, then apply directly to the employers that fit.
