About the Role:
The Principal Pre-Sales Consultant - (Embedded Solutions) is a partner-facing technical expert focused on enabling strategic partners to embed Gen Digital capabilities into their own products and experiences. This role blends pre-sales solutions consultancy, product integration to design and deliver SDK- and API-based solutions that drive adoption and revenue through strategic partnerships.
Operating at the intersection of partnerships, product management and engineering, this Specialist leads technical discovery, requirements definition, integration scoping, and solution design—particularly for Gen Digitals embedded experiences. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will guide partners from concept through evaluation and implementation, ensuring solutions are both technically robust and aligned with partner and Gen Digital roadmaps
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead pre-sales technical discovery with strategic partners to understand business objectives, user journeys, and technical environments; translate findings into clear requirements and integration options.
- Scope and define integration projects for SDK and API implementations, including effort estimates, delivery milestones, risks, constraints, and cross-functional dependencies.
- Design and document integration solutions leveraging Gen Digital SDKs, APIs, and platform services, outlining multiple integration options (e.g., native SDK, REST API, web components, SSO/OIDC flows, federated token exchange) and guiding partners to the best-fit approach.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management to validate feasibility, influence roadmaps, and prioritize features based on partner and market requirements for embedded and mobile solutions.
- Work hands-on with partner engineering teams during POCs, pilots, and technical evaluations, providing practical guidance on SDK installation, API consumption, error handling, observability, and performance considerations.
- Provide architectural input and technical leadership for mobile-centric integrations, including solutions that leverage Kotlin Multiplatform, Xcode/Swift, Android Studio, and modern JavaScript frameworks for hybrid or cross-platform experiences.
- Partner with identity and security stakeholders (internally and externally) to design and validate authentication and authorization flows using Identity Providers (IdP), OIDC/OAuth2, SAML, SSO, and federated token exchange.
- Act as the technical and product voice of the partner within Gen Digital—capturing and organizing requirements, documenting use cases, and providing structured feedback to Product, Engineering, and GTM teams.
- Present and position Gen Digital’s embedded capabilities in a pre-sales context to partner executives, product leaders, architects, and development teams, tailoring messaging and depth to each audience.
- Create and maintain partner-facing technical assets, including solution design documents, sequence diagrams, reference architectures, code samples, and integration playbooks.
- Support RFP/RFI processes with detailed technical responses, architecture proposals, and integration plans, coordinating across Legal, Security, Product, and Engineering as needed.
- Provide post-signature technical oversight during early implementation, ensuring that designs are correctly executed, risks are surfaced early, and expansion opportunities are identified.
- Stay current on partner strategies, market trends, and competitive offerings in identity, security, and embedded consumer services to inform solution design and roadmap discussions.
- Contribute to internal sales engineering enablement, sharing best practices, reusable patterns, and lessons learned across global teams.
- Travel as needed to support onsite partner workshops, events, and strategic integration sessions.
About you:
Education: BS degree or equivalent experience in computer science, software engineering, cybersecurity, identity protection, or a related technical field.
Experience: 5–10 years of experience in solutions engineering, pre-sales, technical consulting, or product management roles; at least 3+ years in a senior, customer/partner-facing technical capacity.
Proven experience designing and delivering embedded solutions leveraging SDKs and APIs, ideally in B2B2C or platform/partner ecosystems.
Skills:
- Strong background in requirements gathering, product scoping, and solution definition—able to write or contribute to PRDs, integration specs, and acceptance criteria.
- Hands-on familiarity with modern integration patterns, including RESTful APIs, webhooks, SDK-based integrations, SPAs, and secure auth flows (SSO, OIDC/OAuth2).
- Experience working with or alongside mobile development teams; familiarity with Kotlin Multiplatform, Xcode/Swift, Android Studio, and modern JavaScript stacks (e.g., React, Vue, or similar) is a strong plus.
- Understanding of Identity Platforms (IdP), OIDC/OAuth2, SAML, SSO, and federated token exchange and how they apply to partner and consumer experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical discovery workshops, synthesize input from multiple stakeholders, and convert it into clear, actionable technical and product requirements.
- Track record of supporting B2C or B2B2C partnerships, ideally with financial institutions, telcos, OEMs, or large consumer service providers.
- Excellent project and stakeholder management skills; capable of managing multiple concurrent integration efforts, timelines, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills; comfortable operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments with evolving requirements.
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written; able to clearly explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Self-starter with a growth mindset and a strong desire to learn new technologies, tools, and industry trends in identity, security, mobile, and embedded integrations. Experience on the technical pre-sales side of Financial Services, identity theft protection services (ITPS), or anti-scam / fraud-prevention platforms is highly beneficial.
- Demonstrated success in customer- or client-facing roles, building trusted relationships and driving successful technical and business outcomes

Tips for Your Pre Sales Consultant Job Search
Quantify your demo-to-close contributions
Hiring managers want proof your discovery calls and product demos moved deals forward. Pull specific win rates, deal sizes influenced, or pipeline numbers from your CRM history and lead with those on your resume instead of listing demo responsibilities.
Tailor your resume to the sales cycle
Pre sales roles at a startup with a 30-day cycle look nothing like an enterprise role with a 12-month one. Mirror the cycle length in how you describe your experience, and match your language to the buyer persona listed in each job description.
Certify in the platforms recruiters screen for
Many applicant tracking systems filter for platform-specific credentials before a human reads your resume. Prioritize certifications in Salesforce, AWS, or the specific vendor stack named in the job posting to clear that first filter reliably.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists pre sales consultant openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Prepare a live demo as your portfolio
Many pre sales interviews include a mock discovery call or product demo on the spot. Build a short, repeatable demo using a tool you know well, practice it until transitions feel natural, and bring it to every final-round conversation.
Negotiate on-target earnings structure clearly
Pre sales compensation splits vary widely between base and variable. Before accepting any offer, confirm what the variable component is tied to, whether it's individual bookings, team quota, or revenue influenced, so you can evaluate the real upside accurately.
Pre Sales Consultant Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most pre sales consultants?
The companies hiring the most pre sales consultants right now include Socure, Infinity by Marvin, and Rippling, with the largest share of openings in Texas, New York, and Maryland, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Enterprise software and cloud infrastructure vendors consistently account for the largest share of open roles.
How many pre sales consultant jobs are remote?
About 73% of pre sales consultant openings are fully remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how much of the discovery and demo process has moved to video. Roles focused on enterprise software and SaaS platforms tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while those requiring on-site proof-of-concept installations or hardware evaluations are more likely to require travel or in-person presence.
How do you become a pre sales consultant?
Start by building fluency in a specific technology domain, whether cloud platforms, cybersecurity, or enterprise software, through hands-on use or a related role in technical support, implementation, or inside sales. Develop your ability to run discovery conversations and translate business problems into product demonstrations. Pursue vendor certifications relevant to the stack you want to support, then target associate or junior pre sales roles to build your pipeline and demo history.
Can you get a pre sales consultant job with little or no experience?
Yes, candidates with strong technical support, customer success, or inside sales backgrounds regularly move into pre sales without a formal pre sales title on their resume. Employers care most about your ability to explain complex products clearly and engage both technical buyers and business stakeholders. Build a demo portfolio using free trial tools, document any RFP or proposal work you have contributed to, and target companies with structured associate pre sales programs.
What does the pre sales consultant interview process look like?
Most pre sales interviews begin with a recruiter screen focused on your sales cycle experience and the types of buyers you have worked with. This is followed by a hiring manager conversation about discovery methodology and how you qualify opportunities. The final stage almost always includes a mock demo or technical presentation scored on clarity, objection handling, and how well you connect product features to a stated business problem.
Where can I find and apply to pre sales consultant jobs?
You can find and apply to pre sales consultant jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from across the United States. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level, industry focus, and preferred location, then apply directly to each one that fits.
