Product Director Jobs in Indiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a product director in Indiana?
Product director roles in Indiana do not require a state-issued license or certification. The typical path begins with a bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or engineering, followed by several years of individual-contributor product management work. Indiana employers, particularly those in Indianapolis's tech and healthcare corridors, generally promote from senior product manager roles or hire candidates who have led product teams at comparable organizations. An MBA or a Pragmatic Institute certification can strengthen a candidacy for director-level positions.
Which companies hire product directors in Indiana?
Employers hiring product directors in Indiana right now include CVS Health, Eli Lilly, and Amcor, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Indianapolis anchors most of this activity given its concentration of health-tech companies, fintech firms, and enterprise software operations with substantial product organizations.
Which Indiana cities have the most product director jobs?
Indianapolis, Indiana, and Newburgh are the Indiana cities with the most product director openings. Indianapolis dominates due to its large base of healthcare, insurance, and technology employers with mature product teams, while Fort Wayne and Bloomington generate consistent openings through manufacturing technology companies and Indiana University-affiliated ventures that have grown into sizeable software businesses.
Are there remote product director jobs in Indiana?
Yes, and more than most fields. Product directors work primarily through documentation, video calls, and collaboration tools, making the role well suited to remote arrangements. About 91% of product director openings tied to Indiana are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how broadly distributed product teams have become. Strategy, roadmap planning, and stakeholder alignment work are the functions most commonly performed fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a product director in Indiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is moving into a product manager role first and building toward director responsibility over time. Indiana employers like Eli Lilly, Salesforce's Indianapolis office, and several health-tech firms in the 16 Tech innovation district hire associate or junior product managers from adjacent roles such as business analyst, UX researcher, or project manager. Building a portfolio that demonstrates ownership of a feature or small product, even from a side project or internal initiative, makes a strong impression alongside any formal certification from programs like Pragmatic Institute.
Where can I find and apply to product director jobs in Indiana?
You can find and apply to product director jobs in Indiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current Indiana openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your experience and the industries you want to work in, and apply directly to each position that fits.
