This role is ideal for a lawyer who enjoys embedding directly with product, engineering, and go-to-market teams to shape products from concept through launch, providing practical, proactive, and commercially savvy legal guidance in the fast-moving payments and commerce technology industry.
Successful candidates will have significant experience counseling on product development and design, terms of service and end-user/merchant agreements, data privacy and security, and regulatory considerations affecting hardware, software, SaaS, and cloud-based payment products. Candidates should have a genuine interest in and aptitude for technology, product innovation, and the payments industry.
This role will partner closely with product management, engineering, design, marketing, and compliance teams, balancing legal risk with the need to ship products quickly in a highly competitive market.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day legal support and practical guidance to product, engineering, and technology teams across the full product lifecycle.
- Advise on product design and development, feature launches, terms of service, privacy policies, and end-user or merchant-facing agreements.
- Counsel on data privacy and security compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA) as applied to consumer- and merchant-facing products.
- Review and negotiate technology and commercial agreements, including SaaS, API, cloud hosting, and third-party vendor/licensing arrangements.
- Translate payments industry regulatory considerations (e.g., PCI DSS, card network rules) into clear, actionable product guidance.
- Partner cross-functionally with product management, engineering, design, marketing, and compliance teams to balance legal risk with the need to ship quickly in a competitive market.
- Collaborate with other members of the global legal team to ensure consistency and alignment across the broader legal function.
Qualifications
- At least 7-10 years' experience in the practice of law, with substantial experience providing day-to-day legal support to product, engineering, or technology teams.
- Previous large law firm and/or in-house experience, ideally within a technology, software, fintech, or payments company.
- Demonstrated experience advising on the full product lifecycle, including product design and development, feature launches, terms of service, privacy policies, and end-user or merchant-facing agreements.
- Working knowledge of data privacy and security laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA) and their application to consumer and merchant-facing products.
- Experience reviewing and negotiating technology and commercial agreements, including SaaS, API, cloud hosting, and third-party vendor/licensing arrangements.
- Awareness of payments industry regulatory considerations (e.g., PCI DSS, card network rules) and ability to translate them into practical product guidance.
- Problem-solver with the ability to provide clear, practical legal advice in a fast-paced, agile development environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and sound judgment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with product, engineering, design, and marketing teams, as well as other members of the legal department.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a cross-functional team.
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills and demonstrated good judgment.

Product Director Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a product director in Georgia?
Most product directors in Georgia reach the role by starting in associate or senior product manager positions and progressing through demonstrated ownership of product lines. Georgia does not require a state-issued license for product directors. Employers in Atlanta's tech and fintech sectors typically look for a bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline, several years of increasingly senior product management experience, and a portfolio that shows measurable product outcomes.
Which companies hire product directors in Georgia?
Employers hiring product directors in Georgia right now include CVS Health, The Coca-Cola Company, and JPMorganChase, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Georgia's concentration of technology, financial services, and healthcare companies means the pipeline of product director openings is broad and consistently replenished throughout the year.
Which Georgia cities have the most product director jobs?
Atlanta, Alpharetta, and Georgia are the cities with the most product director openings in Georgia. Atlanta drives the majority of demand as the state's dominant technology and corporate headquarters hub, while Alpharetta and other northern metro suburbs concentrate openings because large fintech, cybersecurity, and enterprise software companies have set up significant operations there.
Are there remote product director jobs in Georgia?
Yes, and more than most fields. Product director work is largely strategic and collaborative rather than tied to a physical location, making it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 61% of product director openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with the most remote-friendly roles concentrated in SaaS and enterprise software companies. On-site expectations are more common at consumer-facing or hardware-oriented companies.
How can I get hired as a product director in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into an associate product manager or product analyst role at one of Georgia's larger technology companies, then building toward a director title over several years. Employers like NCR Voyix and Cox Enterprises hire product coordinators and analysts who grow into full product management functions internally. A strong portfolio demonstrating ownership of even small features, combined with a business or technical degree, gives candidates a clear edge over applicants with credentials alone.
Where can I find and apply to product director jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to product director jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Georgia openings across Atlanta, Alpharetta, and the broader state. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the companies posting them.
