Strategic Sourcing Manager Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a strategic sourcing manager in Georgia?
Most strategic sourcing managers in Georgia begin with a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or engineering, then build experience in procurement, purchasing, or category management roles. Georgia does not require a state-issued license for this position. Earning a Certified Professional in Supply Management designation from the Institute for Supply Management, or a Certified Supply Chain Professional credential, significantly strengthens candidacy with Georgia's manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare employers.
How much do strategic sourcing managers make in Georgia?
Strategic sourcing managers in Georgia earn a median of about $155,360 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $91,560 for the lowest 10% to over $250,120 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire strategic sourcing managers in Georgia?
Employers hiring strategic sourcing managers in Georgia right now include The Home Depot, Honeywell, and TK Elevator, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Georgia's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, major defense contractors, and one of the country's busiest port logistics networks means sourcing roles appear across a wide range of industries and employer types.
Which Georgia cities have the most strategic sourcing manager jobs?
Atlanta, Brookhaven, and Norcross lead for strategic sourcing manager openings in Georgia. Atlanta dominates because it hosts the headquarters and regional offices of large corporations across retail, aviation, and healthcare, while Savannah's position as a major East Coast port hub draws logistics and manufacturing employers, and Augusta's federal and healthcare presence supports consistent sourcing demand in those sectors.
Are there remote strategic sourcing manager jobs in Georgia?
Yes, and more than most fields. Strategic sourcing is largely analytical and relationship-driven work that translates well to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 50% of strategic sourcing manager openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting broad employer acceptance of flexible work in this function. Supplier negotiation, contract review, and spend analysis are the tasks most commonly performed remotely.
How can I get hired as a strategic sourcing manager in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing a junior procurement, purchasing coordinator, or supply chain analyst role with a large Georgia employer and building from there. Anchor institutions such as Emory Healthcare, Georgia-Pacific, and major third-party logistics firms headquartered near Atlanta regularly hire entry-level supply chain associates. A CPSM certification or coursework from Georgia State University's supply chain program strengthens a resume without prior sourcing titles, and lateral moves from accounts payable, inventory control, or vendor relations are common stepping stones.
Where can I find and apply to strategic sourcing manager jobs in Georgia?
