Product Marketing Specialist Jobs in Mississippi: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a product marketing specialist in Mississippi?
Most product marketing specialist roles in Mississippi require a bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or a related field from an accredited institution such as the University of Mississippi, Mississippi State University, or the University of Southern Mississippi. There is no state-issued license for this role. Employers typically look for candidates who can demonstrate product positioning work through a portfolio, case studies, or internship experience alongside their degree.
How much do product marketing specialists make in Mississippi?
Product marketing specialists in Mississippi earn a median of about $56,640 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $30,780 for the lowest 10% to over $95,240 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire product marketing specialists in Mississippi?
Employers hiring product marketing specialists in Mississippi right now include AnderCorp, CVS Health, and Sprint Mart, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Mississippi's healthcare, insurance, and financial services sectors are consistent sources of product marketing openings, particularly in the Jackson metro area.
Which Mississippi cities have the most product marketing specialist jobs?
Jackson, Oxford, and Tupelo account for the most product marketing specialist openings in Mississippi. Jackson drives the largest share of listings as the state capital and home to major insurance carriers, healthcare systems, and corporate headquarters, while Ridgeland and Hattiesburg attract openings through their growing professional services and regional retail industries.
Are there remote product marketing specialist jobs in Mississippi?
Yes, and more than most fields, since product marketing work centers on strategy, writing, and digital collaboration rather than on-site presence. About 25% of product marketing specialist openings tied to Mississippi are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader trends in desk-based marketing roles. Product positioning, content development, and competitive research are the functions most commonly performed fully remote.
How can I get hired as a product marketing specialist in Mississippi with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a marketing coordinator or content marketing associate role at a Mississippi-based organization such as a regional hospital system, insurance company, or mid-size technology firm in the Jackson or Ridgeland area. Many of these employers hire new graduates from the University of Mississippi or Mississippi State University directly into rotational or junior marketing positions. Building a portfolio of product one-pagers, messaging frameworks, or go-to-market plans, even from coursework or freelance projects, gives candidates a measurable edge over applicants who rely on a degree alone.
