Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Small Business Development Assistant Program Director to join our team dedicated to fostering entrepreneurial growth and economic development. In this pivotal role, you will lead initiatives designed to support small business success through program development, strategic planning, and community engagement. The assistant Director will support the director in design, delivery and evaluation to ensure participants gain skills, resources, and opportunities that foster workforce reediness, financial literacy, small business development and pathways to economic stability. This role requires strong leadership, program management, and partnership-building skills to advance the programs mission and contractual obligations with DYCD.
Minimum Bachelor's degree Required preferably in Business administration, public administration, Nonprofit Management, Community Development, Social Sciences or related field. Minimum 3-5 years of program management.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee small business support programs that align with organizational goals and community needs.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources efficiently to ensure successful program delivery.
- Lead a team of staff and volunteers, providing mentorship, guidance, and personnel management to foster a high-performing environment.
- Conduct workshops, seminars, and one-on-one coaching sessions focused on business planning, financial management, marketing strategies, and other key areas.
- Monitor program outcomes through data collection and analysis; prepare reports for stakeholders highlighting successes, challenges, and future opportunities.
- Develop, implement and oversee all NDA Economic Development program services in alignment with DYCD contract requirements and organization Mission.
- Monitor and manage curriculum and workshops in areas such as workforce reediness, entrepreneurship, financial empowerment, digital literacy, and job search support.
- Ensure recruitment, intake and enrollment goals are met, and maintain compliance with participant eligibility requirements.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in project management within educational or community development settings.
- Minimum Bachelor's degree Required preferably in Business administration, public administration, Nonprofit Management, Community Development, Social Sciences or related field. Minimum 3-5 years of program management.
- Strong background in budgeting, grant proposal writing, and securing research or program funding.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing teams in academic or administrative environments.
- Familiarity with curriculum development, program design, and evaluation methods.
- Prior university or higher education teaching experience is highly desirable.
- Excellent written communication skills for report writing, proposals, and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work effectively with students, faculty members, community partners, and local businesses.
