Teacher Assistant – Preschool Special Education (NYS Certified TA)
Innovators Prep | Preschool Special Education Program (4410)
Innovators Prep is looking for a passionate, caring, and motivated NYS Certified Teacher Assistant to join our growing preschool special education program. We are a high-quality early childhood program that believes every child deserves a supportive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment where they can grow and succeed.
Schedule:
Monday–Friday
Staff Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Student Program Hours: 8:30 AM – 2:50 PM
Position Responsibilities:
- Support the Special Education Teacher in implementing daily classroom routines and instruction
- Assist children ages 3–5 with IEP goals, social-emotional development, communication, and independence skills
- Provide small-group and individual support based on student needs
- Help create a structured, positive, and nurturing classroom environment
- Support classroom centers, sensory activities, play-based learning, and hands-on activities
- Assist with behavior support strategies and promote positive interactions
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists (Speech, OT, PT), and other team members
- Help prepare classroom materials, visuals, activities, and student supports
- Maintain student safety and follow all program policies and procedures
Requirements:
- NYSED Teacher Assistant Certification (Level I, II, III, or Pre-Professional preferred)- Can be on a study plan to receive this
- Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
- Experience with children with special needs is a plus
- Positive attitude, patience, flexibility, and a love for helping children grow
- Ability to work as part of a supportive team
