Property Manager Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a property manager in Utah?
To work as a property manager in Utah you must hold an active real estate license issued by the Utah Division of Real Estate, which requires completing approved pre-licensing education, passing the Utah Real Estate Sales Agent exam, and working under a licensed principal broker. Property managers who only manage properties owned by their employer may be exempt, but most third-party management roles require licensure. A Certified Property Manager designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management is a common credential that strengthens candidacy.
How much do property managers make in Utah?
Property managers in Utah earn a median of about $64,290 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $45,610 for the lowest 10% to over $126,730 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire property managers in Utah?
Employers hiring property managers in Utah right now include Hays, Housing Connect, and CORNERSTONE RESIDENTIAL, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Utah's fast-growing multifamily and commercial sectors mean hiring is consistent across both locally headquartered firms and national operators with significant Utah portfolios.
Which Utah cities have the most property manager jobs?
The cities with the most property manager openings in Utah are Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Clearfield. Salt Lake City drives the largest share of demand as the state's primary commercial and multifamily hub, while rapid population growth in the Utah County corridor and continued retirement and vacation development in the St. George area sustain strong hiring outside the capital.
Are there remote property manager jobs in Utah?
Yes, but they're rare. Property management is fundamentally a hands-on role requiring on-site inspections, tenant interactions, and maintenance oversight that cannot be performed remotely. About 0% of property manager openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to be corporate-level roles such as portfolio analyst, compliance coordinator, or regional reporting functions rather than day-to-day site management.
How can I get hired as a property manager in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a leasing consultant or leasing agent role at a large Utah multifamily operator, where on-the-job training leads directly to assistant property manager positions. Companies like Woodbury Corporation and national operators with Utah communities regularly hire candidates without prior management experience for leasing roles. Obtaining your Utah real estate license before applying gives you a measurable edge, and experience in adjacent roles such as HOA administrator, facilities coordinator, or real estate assistant counts toward the portfolio large Utah employers expect.
Where can I find and apply to property manager jobs in Utah?
You can find and apply to property manager jobs in Utah on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across Salt Lake City, Provo, St. George, and other Utah markets. Search the listings for roles that match your license status, specialty, and experience level, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
