Regional Sales Representative Jobs in Montana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a regional sales representative in Montana?
Most regional sales representative positions in Montana require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or an industry-related field such as agriculture or life sciences, though some employers prioritize industry experience over formal education. Montana does not require a state-issued license for general sales roles, but positions in specific sectors like insurance or real estate require licensure through the Montana Commissioner of Securities and Insurance. Building familiarity with Montana's dominant industries, including agricultural supply and energy, strengthens candidacy considerably.
Which companies hire regional sales representatives in Montana?
Companies currently hiring regional sales representatives in Montana include Sweetwater Care, DSG, and Alside, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Montana's agricultural, healthcare, and industrial sectors tend to generate the most consistent regional sales openings across the state.
Which Montana cities have the most regional sales representative jobs?
Montana, Billings, and Bozeman have the most regional sales representative openings in Montana. Billings anchors the list as Montana's largest commercial hub, supported by its energy, agricultural, and healthcare sectors, while Missoula and Great Falls draw openings through their regional distribution networks and proximity to large institutional buyers in healthcare and education.
Are there remote regional sales representative jobs in Montana?
Yes, and more than many field roles, since regional sales work increasingly blends phone and video prospecting with in-person territory visits. About 29% of regional sales representative openings tied to Montana are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how broadly employers now accept virtual account management. Inside sales and account management functions within the role are the most consistently remote, while new business development still typically requires in-territory presence.
How can I get hired as a regional sales representative in Montana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an inside sales or sales development representative role with a Montana-based company, where you build quota experience before moving to a regional territory. Agricultural companies like Simplot and co-ops affiliated with the Montana Farm Bureau often hire associate sales reps who learn product lines on the job. A background in agriculture, healthcare, or trades gives candidates a credibility edge even without formal sales experience, and completing a sales certificate through the University of Montana's business programs can strengthen early applications.
Where can I find and apply to regional sales representative jobs in Montana?
You can find and apply to regional sales representative jobs in Montana on Migrate Mate, which lists current Montana openings updated regularly. Search for roles that match your industry background and territory preference, then apply directly to the ones that fit your experience level and availability.
