Risk Manager Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a risk manager in Florida?
Florida does not require a state-issued license specific to risk management, so entry depends on education and professional certification. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field, followed by a recognized credential such as the Financial Risk Manager designation or the Certified Risk Manager credential. Florida's financial services and insurance industries place particular weight on these certifications when evaluating candidates at all levels.
Which companies hire risk managers in Florida?
Employers hiring risk managers in Florida right now include Kaufman Rossin, Palm Garden Healthcare, and Integro, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's concentration of insurance carriers, regional banks, and large healthcare systems means hiring is spread across multiple sectors rather than dominated by a single industry.
Which Florida cities have the most risk manager jobs?
Tampa, Orlando, and Miami have the most risk manager openings in Florida. Miami drives volume through its dense financial services, international banking, and insurance sector, Tampa benefits from large corporate headquarters including Raymond James and several major insurers, and Jacksonville's growing financial and logistics industries contribute consistent demand for risk professionals.
Are there remote risk manager jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than many fields, since risk management is primarily analytical and desk-based work that translates well to remote settings. About 57% of risk manager openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting broader flexibility across financial services and corporate functions. Operational risk, model risk, and compliance-adjacent roles tend to offer the most remote flexibility.
How can I get hired as a risk manager in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a junior risk analyst or risk associate role, which large Florida financial institutions and insurers regularly post for candidates without direct risk experience. Florida Blue, Fidelity National Financial, and major regional banks often bring in candidates from adjacent roles such as compliance analyst, internal audit associate, or financial analyst. Earning a Certified Risk Management Professional designation early or completing a GRC software certification gives candidates a concrete edge when competing for these openings.
Where can I find and apply to risk manager jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to risk manager jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Find roles that match your experience and specialization, then apply directly to each employer through the listing.
