Sales And Business Development Jobs in Delaware: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales and business development in Delaware?
Most sales and business development roles in Delaware require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline, though some employers substitute equivalent work experience. Delaware does not mandate a state-issued license for general sales roles, but professionals selling securities or insurance must hold FINRA registrations or a Delaware Department of Insurance license respectively. Building experience in account management, lead generation, or client-facing roles at one of Wilmington's many financial or corporate services firms is the most common entry path.
Which companies hire sales and business developments in Delaware?
Delaware sales and business development roles are posted by CVS Health, Atwell, and CSC and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Delaware's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and financial institutions in Wilmington means many of these openings are with large, established corporate employers rather than small regional firms.
Which Delaware cities have the most sales and business development jobs?
Wilmington, Newark, and Dover are the cities with the most sales and business development openings in Delaware. Wilmington dominates because it hosts the headquarters and major regional offices of the financial services, pharmaceutical, and corporate services companies that generate the bulk of Delaware's enterprise sales demand, while Dover and Newark contribute openings tied to state government contractors, the University of Delaware ecosystem, and life sciences firms.
Are there remote sales and business development jobs in Delaware?
Yes, and more than many fields, since business development and account management work is heavily phone, email, and video-conference driven. About 61% of sales and business development openings tied to Delaware are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how widely distributed the client base often is. Strategic partnership and inside sales roles tend to be the most remote-eligible, while territory-based field sales positions typically require in-person client visits.
How can I get hired as a sales and business development in Delaware with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a sales development representative or business development associate role, which large Wilmington-area financial institutions and life sciences companies such as Incyte or local fintech firms post regularly for candidates without deep experience. Lateral moves from customer success, account coordination, or marketing roles are also a proven door-opener. Completing a Salesforce or HubSpot certification strengthens any entry-level application, and targeting structured rotational or associate programs at Delaware's corporate headquarters is the fastest way to build a foundation.
Where can I find and apply to sales and business development jobs in Delaware?
You can find and apply to sales and business development jobs in Delaware on Migrate Mate, which lists current Delaware openings across industries and seniority levels. Search the listings for roles that match your background, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
