Sales Development Manager Jobs in San Francisco: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a sales development manager job in San Francisco?
The strongest path is targeting San Francisco's dense cluster of SaaS, cybersecurity, and fintech companies in SoMa and Mission Bay, where SDR teams scale quickly and promote from within. Candidates who can show measurable pipeline contribution and experience with outbound sequencing tools stand out. Familiarity with the enterprise sales cycles common at Bay Area B2B companies gives you a concrete edge over generalist applicants.
Which companies hire sales development managers in San Francisco?
San Francisco sales development manager roles are posted by Rippling, DoorDash, and Anthropic and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. San Francisco's employer base skews heavily toward growth-stage and publicly traded tech companies, meaning openings often come with structured SDR development programs and clear promotion timelines.
Are there remote sales development manager jobs in San Francisco?
Yes, though the role is more hybrid than fully remote since team coaching, pipeline reviews, and cross-functional coordination often require in-person presence. About 45% of sales development manager openings tied to San Francisco are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how Bay Area tech companies have settled into flexible work policies. Strategic planning and reporting responsibilities tend to be the most remote-compatible parts of the role in San Francisco.
How can I get a sales development manager job in San Francisco with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as an SDR or inside sales rep at a growth-stage SaaS company in SoMa or the Financial District, where promotion to manager within 18 to 24 months is common for high performers. Many San Francisco startups and Series B companies prefer to promote proven SDRs into management rather than hire externally. Building fluency with CRM platforms and outbound tooling used across the Bay Area market accelerates that path considerably.
Which industries hire the most sales development managers in San Francisco?
The sectors hiring the most sales development managers in San Francisco are Technology & Software, Consulting & Professional Services, and Banking & Financial Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. San Francisco's concentration of venture-backed technology companies and established enterprise software firms drives unusually high and sustained demand for SDR leadership compared to most other U.S. cities.
