Sales Development Manager Jobs in San Jose: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a sales development manager job in San Jose?
Focus your search on the enterprise software, cybersecurity, and SaaS companies clustered in North San Jose and the broader Silicon Valley corridor. Employers here prioritize candidates who have managed outbound pipeline teams, used CRM platforms at scale, and can show measurable improvements in qualified-lead conversion. Familiarity with the B2B technology sales cycle is a genuine edge in this market over generalist sales management experience.
Which companies hire sales development managers in San Jose?
San Jose sales development manager roles are posted by A10 Networks, JFrog, and TEKsystems and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. The hiring base skews heavily toward established enterprise tech firms and fast-growing SaaS companies, with a smaller but active cluster of semiconductor and networking hardware companies that maintain inside sales development teams locally.
Are there remote sales development manager jobs in San Jose?
Yes, though with limits, since sales development managers often coach SDR teams in real time and attend pipeline reviews that favor in-person presence. About 80% of sales development manager openings tied to San Jose are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with fully remote roles most common at larger SaaS companies. Hybrid arrangements that require two or three days on-site in North San Jose or Downtown are the most frequent setup locally.
How can I get a sales development manager job in San Jose with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving up from an SDR or senior SDR role at one of San Jose's mid-size SaaS or cybersecurity companies, where team leads are often promoted into management when the company scales a new product line. Target companies in North San Jose that are Series B or later and are actively building out their outbound function, as those teams create new management needs fastest. Demonstrated experience hitting quota and mentoring junior reps carries more weight here than formal credentials.
Which industries hire the most sales development managers in San Jose?
San Jose sales development manager roles concentrate in Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. San Jose's identity as a center for enterprise technology, networking infrastructure, and cybersecurity means that B2B software and hardware companies generate the bulk of local demand for professionals who can build and lead outbound sales development teams.
