Sales Manager Jobs in Austin: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a sales manager job in Austin?
Austin's strongest hiring for sales managers comes from SaaS and enterprise tech companies, followed by healthcare, fintech, and commercial real estate firms. Most roles concentrate in the Domain and downtown, where regional headquarters cluster. Candidates who demonstrate quota attainment, experience managing SDR or AE teams, and familiarity with the Austin tech ecosystem stand out. Networking through local groups like Austin Technology Council also gives applicants a concrete edge.
Which companies hire sales managers in Austin?
Austin sales manager roles are posted by Amazon Web Services, Rippling, and AutoZone and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Austin's employer mix is heavy on high-growth SaaS companies, regional healthcare systems, and national brands with large Texas operations headquartered or anchored in the city.
Are there remote sales manager jobs in Austin?
Yes, though fully remote roles are less common for sales managers than for individual contributors, since the role often requires in-person team leadership and client meetings. About 48% of sales manager openings tied to Austin are remote or hybrid as of June 2026. The most remote-friendly subset tends to be inside sales manager roles at SaaS and tech companies based in the Domain or operating distributed teams.
How can I get a sales manager job in Austin with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Austin is to move up internally from a quota-carrying account executive or senior SDR role at one of the city's many growth-stage SaaS companies, which regularly promote from within to fill first-time manager seats. Austin-based employers in edtech, healthtech, and fintech are also known to consider strong individual contributors with leadership experience for player-coach roles. Building a record of mentoring junior reps and volunteering for team lead responsibilities strengthens your case considerably.
Which industries hire the most sales managers in Austin?
Austin sales manager roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Consulting & Professional Services, and Distribution & Wholesale, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Austin's position as a national hub for enterprise software companies and its fast-growing healthcare and fintech sectors drive persistent demand for sales leadership across experience levels.
