Sales Representative Jobs in Austin: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a sales representative job in Austin?
Target Austin's densest hiring sectors first: enterprise software, healthcare technology, and financial services, where the city's employer base is deepest. Roles concentrate in the Domain, downtown, and East Austin's growing startup corridor. Candidates who can demonstrate SaaS or B2B experience stand out because so many Austin employers operate in those spaces. Networking through Austin tech meetups and industry events also gives local applicants a real edge.
Which companies hire sales representatives in Austin?
Employers hiring sales representatives in Austin right now include ADT, Orkin, and Cintas, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Austin's hiring mix skews toward high-growth technology companies, regional healthcare systems, and fintech firms that maintain large local sales teams.
Are there remote sales representative jobs in Austin?
Yes, though it depends on the role. Inside sales and software sales positions are far more remote-friendly than field or territory roles, which typically require in-person client visits. About 43% of sales representative openings tied to Austin are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with the highest concentration among SaaS and fintech employers headquartered in or near the Domain.
How can I get a sales representative job in Austin with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Austin is a sales development representative role at one of the city's many software or technology companies, which routinely hire candidates without a sales background and provide structured training. Austin employers like mid-size SaaS firms and regional healthcare device companies often prefer motivated candidates over experienced ones for SDR and junior account executive openings. A proven ability to communicate clearly and hit activity targets matters more than a resume full of sales titles.
