Salesforce Developer Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a salesforce developer in Texas?
Texas does not require a state-issued license to work as a salesforce developer, so the path runs through Salesforce's own certification program. Most Texas employers expect at least a Platform Developer I certification, earned by passing the Salesforce-administered exam after completing the free Trailhead learning paths. A degree in computer science or information systems strengthens your application, but a strong certification portfolio and a demonstrable project history are what Texas hiring managers consistently prioritize.
How much do salesforce developers make in Texas?
Salesforce developers in Texas earn a median of about $132,150 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $82,600 for the lowest 10% to over $183,680 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire salesforce developers in Texas?
Employers hiring salesforce developers in Texas right now include Automobile Club of Missouri, Photon, and Calpion, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Texas's large base of Fortune 500 headquarters, major consulting firms, and healthcare systems means consistent year-round demand rather than seasonal spikes.
Which Texas cities have the most salesforce developer jobs?
Irving, Austin, and Dallas have the most salesforce developer openings in Texas. Dallas and Austin lead because of the high concentration of technology company offices, financial services firms, and large Salesforce implementation partners headquartered there, while Houston's significant energy and healthcare sector drives steady demand for developers who specialize in Service Cloud and CPQ.
Are there remote salesforce developer jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. Salesforce development is desk-based and platform-driven, making it well suited to remote work. About 67% of salesforce developer openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, which is among the higher rates across technical roles. Development and integration work tends to be fully remote, while solution architect and team-lead roles more often require occasional on-site presence at client locations.
How can I get hired as a salesforce developer in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is earning your Salesforce Platform Developer I certification and building a portfolio of projects on a free Salesforce Developer Edition org. Large Texas consulting firms and staffing agencies that serve the Dallas and Austin markets regularly bring on associate developers and Salesforce administrators as stepping stones into development. Lateral moves from roles such as Salesforce administrator, business analyst, or QA analyst at Texas-based technology or financial services companies are common, and completing the Salesforce Trailhead Superbadge challenges gives hiring managers concrete evidence of hands-on skill.
Where can I find and apply to salesforce developer jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to salesforce developer jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across the state's major hiring metros and industries. Find roles that fit your experience and certifications and apply directly to each one.
