Job Overview

Join a school health team as a Registered Nurse (RN), supporting students’ health, safety, and readiness to learn. This role requires at least two years of school nursing experience and a practical, responsive approach to daily clinic needs. You’ll assess students, provide care, communicate with families, and coordinate with school staff while following applicable health regulations and nursing policies.

Duties

• Assess student health concerns, monitor vital signs, provide first aid, and respond to medical emergencies; use cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and an automated external defibrillator (AED) when needed.
• Administer medications and injections as authorized, and perform nursing procedures such as venipuncture or intravenous (IV) insertion when appropriate to the role.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and electronic medical and health records (EMR/EHR), protect confidentiality under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and communicate with parents or guardians.
• Coordinate care with school staff and clinical partners, applying knowledge of pediatrics, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

Experience

• Required: Active registered nurse licensure in accordance with the State Board of Nursing and State Nursing Practice Acts; at least two years of school experience, including school clinic experience.
• Required: Nursing, patient care and assessment, first aid and basic life support (BLS), medication administration, confidentiality, health regulations compliance, and EMR/EHR systems.
• Preferred: Experience in emergency room or emergency medicine, urgent care, infectious disease care, pediatrics, medical-surgical, hospital medicine, intensive care (PICU), operating room (OR), geriatrics, or Level I/II trauma centers.
• Additional care settings such as inpatient, acute, post-acute, sub-acute, outpatient, or clinic experience are valued. Familiarity with manual handling, nursing policy compliance, and clinical interprofessional collaboration is beneficial.

Pay: $52.00 - $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 per week
