Solutions Architect Jobs in Wisconsin: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a solutions architect in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin does not require a state-issued license to work as a solutions architect, so the path runs through education and industry credentials. Most Wisconsin employers expect a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering paired with several years of hands-on technical experience in development, systems engineering, or network administration. Vendor-issued certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect carry significant weight with Wisconsin hiring teams and help candidates stand out at companies like Fiserv and Epic Systems.
Which companies hire solutions architects in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin solutions architect roles are posted by Airgas, Tusker, and Naviant and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Wisconsin's concentration of financial technology firms in the Milwaukee area and major healthcare IT employers centered in Madison creates steady, recurring demand for solutions architects with both enterprise and cloud specializations.
Which Wisconsin cities have the most solutions architect jobs?
Madison, Germantown, and Wisconsin account for the largest share of solutions architect openings in Wisconsin. Milwaukee leads because of its dense cluster of financial services and insurance technology firms, while Madison's strength comes from Epic Systems and a growing university-connected tech sector, and Green Bay and the Fox Valley corridor contribute openings tied to manufacturing, logistics technology, and regional insurance carriers.
Are there remote solutions architect jobs in Wisconsin?
Yes, and more than most fields. Solutions architect work is largely design, documentation, and stakeholder communication, making it well suited to remote delivery. About 100% of solutions architect openings tied to Wisconsin are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how broadly distributed the employer base has become. The portions of the role most commonly done remotely are architecture review sessions, vendor evaluations, and documentation work, while on-site presence is most often requested for initial discovery and executive presentations.
How can I get hired as a solutions architect in Wisconsin with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is moving into a solutions architect role from an adjacent technical position rather than entering the title directly. Wisconsin employers, including large healthcare IT organizations in Madison and financial technology firms in Milwaukee, regularly hire cloud engineers, systems analysts, and application developers who then grow into architecture responsibilities. Building a portfolio of architecture diagrams and design documentation from personal or open-source projects, earning an associate-level cloud certification such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, and targeting Wisconsin companies that run formal rotational or mentorship programs accelerates that transition considerably.
Where can I find and apply to solutions architect jobs in Wisconsin?
You can find and apply to solutions architect jobs in Wisconsin on Migrate Mate, which lists current Wisconsin openings from employers across Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, and beyond. Search the listings to identify roles that match your experience level and specialization, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
