Title: Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development

Position Summary:
The Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development (VP-SPBD) will provide visionary leadership and strategic oversight for growth initiatives, partnerships, and business development activities within our Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH). The VP-SPBD will drive market expansion, identify new revenue opportunities, and ensure alignment of strategic initiatives with the hospital’s long-term goals. This role requires a collaborative leader who can balance clinical, operational, and financial objectives while fostering sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning
Lead the development and execution of the hospital’s long-term strategic plan in alignment with organizational goals.
- Conduct market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and trend forecasting to identify opportunities for growth and service expansion.
- Collaborate with the executive leadership team to establish organizational priorities, goals, and performance metrics.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors regarding strategic initiatives.
Business Development
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate strategic partnerships, joint ventures, acquisitions, and other business opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with referral sources, healthcare networks, payors, and other key stakeholders.
- Lead initiatives to expand the hospital’s service lines, patient volumes, and geographic reach.
Monitor and report on business development activities, ensuring alignment with financial and operational goals.
Financial and Operational Oversight
Collaborate with finance, operations, and clinical leadership to assess ROI and financial feasibility of growth initiatives.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis related to strategic initiatives.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements while pursuing growth opportunities.
Leadership and Team Development
Mentor and develop a high-performing strategic planning and business development team.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and results-driven performance.
Represent the organization externally at industry events, conferences, and professional associations.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or MHA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in healthcare strategic planning, business development, or related leadership roles.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic initiatives, partnerships, or acquisitions in a hospital or post-acute care setting, preferably LTACH.
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of healthcare reimbursement models, including Medicare and Medicaid.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to analyze complex data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
