Supply Chain Planner Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a supply chain planner in Texas?
Most supply chain planner roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or industrial engineering. Texas does not require a state-issued license for this role, but employers strongly favor candidates who hold APICS certifications such as the CPIM or CSCP. Many Texas employers also prioritize experience with ERP platforms and familiarity with lean or Six Sigma methodologies when evaluating candidates.
How much do supply chain planners make in Texas?
Supply chain planners in Texas earn a median of about $75,480 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $45,310 for the lowest 10% to over $123,790 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire supply chain planners in Texas?
Employers hiring supply chain planners in Texas right now include Celestica, Applied Materials, and Amazon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of energy companies, defense contractors, and consumer goods manufacturers means demand for supply chain planners is broad and consistent throughout the state.
Which Texas cities have the most supply chain planner jobs?
Houston, Austin, and Fort Worth account for the most supply chain planner openings in Texas. Houston's dominance reflects its energy, petrochemical, and port logistics industries, while the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex draws demand through its concentration of corporate headquarters, distribution centers, and aerospace manufacturers, and San Antonio contributes through its manufacturing and military logistics presence.
Are there remote supply chain planner jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than many operations roles, since supply chain planning is largely analytical and system-driven rather than hands-on. About 14% of supply chain planner openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026. Demand planning and inventory analysis functions tend to be the most remote-friendly, while roles tied to specific manufacturing sites or distribution facilities typically require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a supply chain planner in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a supply chain coordinator, logistics analyst, or purchasing assistant role, which large Texas employers in manufacturing and energy routinely use as a feeder into planning positions. Companies like ExxonMobil, Lockheed Martin, and H-E-B run structured rotational or early-career programs based in Texas that expose new graduates to planning functions. Earning an APICS CPIM certification before applying signals competency and sets candidates apart in a competitive field.
Where can I find and apply to supply chain planner jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to supply chain planner jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across industries and experience levels. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to employers without creating a profile or going through a third-party process.
