Responsibilities
The successful candidate will support the tax function in managing the Company’s corporate and partnership tax matters worldwide, including U.S. and international tax planning, tax compliance, accounting for income taxes, partner reporting and operational tax issues.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare quarterly and year-end tax provision calculation and related financial statement disclosure (ASC 740);
- Prepare forecasts of income tax expense, cash taxes and effective income tax rates to support internal and external reporting functions;
- Work closely with outside advisors on federal, state, local and foreign tax compliance as well as partnership basis calculations and tax receivable agreement calculations;
- Coordinate partner tax reporting process including the calculation of quarterly estimated tax worksheets and annual Form K-1s;
- Research technical accounting issues and disclosure matters;
- Document tax related internal controls and accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with SOX 404, the requirements of local tax authorities and operational efficiency;
- Manage the miscellaneous indirect tax compliance, such as NYC commercial rent tax, sales and use tax filings;
- Involvement in various special projects and process improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS
PJT Partners seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. Qualified candidates will possess the following:
- 3 – 6 years prior corporate or partnership tax experience;
- Bachelor Degree required, Accounting, Finance, or Economics major preferred;
- Working knowledge of ASC 740: Accounting for Income Taxes;
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm or large organization or a combination of both;
- Prior experience with Up-C Structure and Tax Receivable Agreements a plus;
- Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude;
- Proficiency in Excel and Word.
Expected annualized base salary of $90,000- $115,000.
This range represents the low and high ends of the expected annualized base salary for this position. The specific base salary received by any employee will be informed by a number of factors, including but not limited to, role level and scope, location, candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills and experience.
Base salary is one component of PJT Partners’ compensation structure. In addition to base salary, PJT Partners’ compensation structure may include additional rewards, incentives and benefits, including but not limited to, a discretionary bonus component.
