Technical Operations Manager Jobs in Delaware: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a technical operations manager in Delaware?
Most Delaware employers require a bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, or a technical discipline, followed by progressive experience in a relevant industry. There is no state-issued license specific to this role in Delaware, but candidates targeting pharmaceutical or chemical employers often hold certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, which carry real weight with Delaware's regulated-industry hiring managers. Building experience in a technical contributor or team-lead role within those sectors is the most direct path.
How much do technical operations managers make in Delaware?
Technical operations managers in Delaware earn a median of about $168,500 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $124,290 for the lowest 10% to over $310,250 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire technical operations managers in Delaware?
Employers hiring technical operations managers in Delaware right now include JPMorganChase, Berkley Technology Services, and KBR, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Delaware's concentration of pharmaceutical, financial, and specialty chemical companies means hiring is consistent year-round rather than seasonal.
Which Delaware cities have the most technical operations manager jobs?
The cities with the most technical operations manager openings in Delaware are Wilmington, Newark, and New Castle. Wilmington drives the largest share of listings because it anchors Delaware's financial services and corporate headquarters cluster, while Newark benefits from the University of Delaware's research partnerships and nearby manufacturing facilities, and Dover's openings reflect state government operations and logistics activity in the capital region.
Are there remote technical operations manager jobs in Delaware?
Yes, but they're limited, because the role typically requires on-site oversight of systems, facilities, or production environments. About 42% of technical operations manager openings tied to Delaware are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with most of those hybrid arrangements found in financial services or IT operations rather than manufacturing or pharmaceutical settings. Purely remote roles tend to lean heavily toward the planning and reporting side of the position.
How can I get hired as a technical operations manager in Delaware with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into the role from a technical specialist or production supervisor position within one of Delaware's pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturers, where companies like DuPont and Incyte run associate operations programs and internal development tracks. Completing a Lean Six Sigma certification before applying signals readiness for process improvement responsibilities. Roles such as operations analyst, quality coordinator, or shift supervisor at Delaware manufacturing sites are the most common lateral moves that lead into technical operations management.
Where can I find and apply to technical operations manager jobs in Delaware?
You can find and apply to technical operations manager jobs in Delaware on Migrate Mate, which lists current Delaware openings updated regularly. Search the listings, find the roles that match your background and target industry, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
