New York does not require a state license for this role, but employers in regulated industries such as finance and healthcare often expect candidates to hold certifications like ITIL, PMP, or relevant cloud credentials. Building experience at a New York firm in a senior individual contributor role before moving into management is the most common path.
How much do technical operations managers make in New York?
Technical operations managers in New York earn a median of about $214,300 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $134,870 for the lowest 10% to over $323,670 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire technical operations managers in New York?
Employers hiring technical operations managers in New York right now include Notion, Amazon, and Amplify, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Which New York cities have the most technical operations manager jobs?
The cities with the most technical operations manager openings in New York are New York, Albany, and Brooklyn. New York City dominates because of its dense concentration of financial institutions, technology companies, and large enterprise headquarters, while Albany draws volume from state government IT operations and healthcare systems, and Buffalo contributes through regional banking and manufacturing technology operations.
Are there remote technical operations manager jobs in New York?
