Regional Manager Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a regional manager in New York?
Most regional managers in New York reach the role by progressing through store, branch, or department management before being promoted or hired to oversee a territory. New York does not require a state-issued license specifically for the regional manager title, but industries like healthcare, financial services, and real estate impose their own New York licensing requirements on managers within those sectors. A bachelor's degree in business or a related field is the standard baseline employers expect.
How much do regional managers make in New York?
Regional managers in New York earn a median of about $130,860 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $62,340 for the lowest 10% to over $336,070 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire regional managers in New York?
Employers hiring regional managers in New York right now include Orangetheory Fitness, Amazon, and Glaukos, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's density of retail chains, hospital systems, and financial institutions means regional management demand stays consistent throughout the year across the state.
Which New York cities have the most regional manager jobs?
New York, Albany, and Syracuse have the most regional manager openings in New York. New York City drives the majority of demand because of its concentration of corporate headquarters, major retail flagship operations, and large healthcare networks, while Buffalo and Albany generate steady openings from regional distribution hubs, state agency offices, and anchor healthcare employers like ECMC and Albany Medical Center.
Are there remote regional manager jobs in New York?
Yes, but they're rare. Regional manager roles are inherently territory-based and typically require in-person presence at multiple locations, which limits fully remote arrangements. About 31% of regional manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those tend to be concentrated in SaaS, insurance, and financial services where client oversight can happen digitally.
How can I get hired as a regional manager in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into an assistant manager or department supervisor role at a large New York employer and building a record of hitting operational targets before stepping into a regional seat. Retailers like Macy's and pharmacy chains like Duane Reade run structured development programs in New York that pipeline supervisors into district and regional roles. Candidates who hold relevant credentials, such as a New York real estate license for property management tracks or a Series 65 for financial services, move faster through internal promotion pipelines than those without.
Where can I find and apply to regional manager jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to regional manager jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers actively hiring across the state. Search the listings, find roles that fit your background and target region, and apply directly.
