Operations Supervisor Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a operations supervisor in New York?
Most operations supervisor roles in New York do not require a state-issued license, but employers consistently expect a combination of a bachelor's degree and hands-on supervisory experience. Starting in a coordinator or team lead role within a New York logistics hub, manufacturing plant, or healthcare system is the most common path upward. Earning certifications such as OSHA 30 or a Lean Six Sigma credential recognized by New York employers strengthens a candidacy considerably at the mid-level and above.
How much do operations supervisors make in New York?
Operations supervisors in New York earn a median of about $130,470 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $81,960 for the lowest 10% to over $206,450 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire operations supervisors in New York?
Employers hiring operations supervisors in New York right now include Wolfspeed, Interstate Waste Services, and Ralph Lauren, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's density of distribution centers, hospital networks, and financial services firms means openings appear consistently across a broad range of industries rather than clustering in a single sector.
Which New York cities have the most operations supervisor jobs?
New York, Rochester, and Bronx have the most operations supervisor openings in New York. New York City dominates because of its concentration of corporate headquarters, major hospital systems, and last-mile distribution operations, while Buffalo and Albany generate steady demand from manufacturing, state government operations, and regional logistics networks anchored by employers with large upstate footprints.
Are there remote operations supervisor jobs in New York?
Yes, but they're rare. Operations supervisor work is largely on-site by nature, involving direct oversight of facilities, staff, and physical workflows. About 2% of operations supervisor openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those tend to concentrate in contact center management and business process oversight roles rather than warehouse or manufacturing environments.
How can I get hired as a operations supervisor in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing a coordinator, dispatcher, or shift lead role within a New York distribution center, hospital system, or manufacturing facility and building toward a supervisory title from within. Large New York employers such as Northwell Health and Amazon run structured associate leadership and operations trainee programs that are open to candidates without prior supervisory experience. Completing an OSHA 30 course and earning a Lean or Six Sigma white-belt credential before applying gives a lower-experience candidate a concrete edge over the field.
Where can I find and apply to operations supervisor jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to operations supervisor jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across New York City, Buffalo, Albany, and other markets statewide. Find roles that fit your experience level and industry focus and apply directly to each one.
