The ideal candidate is highly hands-on, comfortable in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment, and takes ownership of complex problems from identification through resolution. You will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Facilities, IT/Network, Security, Real Estate, Procurement and external vendors often in the field to remove blockers and ensure teams have the infrastructure they need.
What You'll Do
- Own end-to-end infrastructure bring-up for new and growing markets: drive prioritized cities from plan through go-live, coordinating site selection, requirements, dependencies, timelines and launch readiness
- Establish and stand up homebases, offsite lots, trailers and shared sites, including parking, charging, amenities, security, network connectivity and team access
- Align Facilities, IT/Network, Security, Real Estate, Procurement, Engineering, local Operations, vendors and landlords to clear blockers and keep market bring-ups on track
- Travel to new and existing markets to walk sites, bring-up infrastructure and lots, support operations and resolve issues that cannot be solved remotely
- Manage vendors, contractors and landlords, scope requirements, obtain quotes, coordinate work, track timelines and escalate delivery risks
- Own capacity planning across markets and prioritize concurrent launches by impact and urgency so parking, charging, network and workspace scale with fleet and headcount growth
- Drive operational excellence through metrics, status reporting and repeatable playbooks—closing gaps and improving reliability and launch execution
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years of experience in technical program management, site/infrastructure operations, field operations, or equivalent
- Strong technical background in site infrastructure, facilities and networking, with demonstrated hands-on depth beyond pure coordination
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently to new and existing markets to push bring-ups forward and resolve field issues hands-on
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail, with clear communication and the ability to drive alignment and timelines without direct authority
- Strong bias for action and ownership: identify problems early and drive them to resolution.

Technical Program Manager Jobs in Palo Alto: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a technical program manager job in Palo Alto?
The clearest path is targeting the semiconductor, enterprise software, and AI infrastructure companies concentrated in Stanford Research Park and along Page Mill Road. Employers there favor candidates who can run cross-functional programs across hardware and software teams simultaneously. Experience with silicon bring-up cycles, cloud platform launches, or deep-tech product delivery sets Palo Alto candidates apart from applicants with purely web or consumer app backgrounds.
Which companies hire technical program managers in Palo Alto?
Palo Alto technical program manager roles are posted by Tesla, Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies, and Rivian and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. The local market is anchored by established semiconductor firms, enterprise infrastructure companies, and well-funded AI startups that maintain engineering headquarters in the city.
Are there remote technical program manager jobs in Palo Alto?
Yes, though less commonly than for purely analytical roles, since technical program managers in Palo Alto often run hardware-adjacent or lab-dependent programs that require on-site coordination. About 42% of technical program manager openings tied to Palo Alto are remote or hybrid as of September 2026. Program tracks focused on software integrations, cloud migrations, and vendor management tend to carry the most flexible location arrangements.
How can I get a technical program manager job in Palo Alto with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point locally is a program coordinator or associate technical program manager role at one of the mid-size semiconductor or enterprise software firms along Page Mill Road or in Stanford Research Park, which often grow talent internally. Lateral moves from software engineering, QA, or release management are common. A PMP certification and demonstrated familiarity with hardware-software program dependencies give early-career candidates a concrete edge in Palo Alto's market.
