Job Description
The Technical Project Manager, Platform Infrastructure coordinates technology projects across VERSANT’s enterprise infrastructure ecosystem. Working with Infrastructure Engineering, Cloud, Network, Security, Operations, Application, and Portfolio Management, this role drives schedules, tracks dependencies, facilitates cross-functional delivery, and manages risks, decisions, and actions. The role supports cloud and on-premises infrastructure, compute, storage, networking, identity and access, observability, automation, resilience, and modernization, with a focus on operational readiness, service reliability, and timely delivery.
Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
Manage the execution of platform infrastructure projects from planning through implementation and launch.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, and action items.
Coordinate work across Infrastructure Engineering, Cloud, Network, Security, Operations, Application, Corporate Technology, and external technology partners.
Facilitate project meetings, working sessions, readiness reviews, and status checkpoints.
Track progress against committed timelines and ensure project owners are aligned on deliverables and next steps.
Escalate schedule, scope, resource, service reliability, or technical risks when appropriate.
Ensure project decisions, requirements, and delivery commitments are clearly documented.
Platform Infrastructure Delivery
Support projects across cloud and on-premises infrastructure, compute, storage, networking, identity and access, observability, automation, and shared platform services.
Coordinate technical delivery activities across infrastructure domain, application, security, and operations teams.
Support launch planning for new infrastructure capabilities, migrations, upgrades, lifecycle refreshes, and major releases.
Coordinate operational readiness activities, including testing, deployment and cutover planning, support coverage, monitoring, documentation, and handoffs to operations teams.
Support readiness planning for business-critical launches, peak events, disaster recovery exercises, and continuity initiatives.
Help ensure changes are aligned with established release, change management, security, compliance, and production support processes.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Serve as a central project coordination point between infrastructure teams and business stakeholders.
Partner with infrastructure engineering leads and technology service owners to translate requirements and priorities into executable project plans.
Coordinate dependencies between Platform Infrastructure and adjacent teams such as Cloud, Security, Enterprise Applications, Data, Workplace Technology, Network Operations, and Digital Operations.
Work with external vendors and technology partners to track deliverables, dependencies, and issue resolution.
Facilitate timely decisions by ensuring stakeholders have clear visibility into project status, risks, technical constraints, and open questions.
Portfolio Management Partnership & Reporting
Partner with the Portfolio Management team to ensure infrastructure project schedules, status, milestones, and risks are accurately reflected in portfolio planning and reporting.
Provide project-level updates and delivery forecasts for portfolio and leadership reviews.
Support intake and planning activities by providing project scope, sequencing, capacity, dependency, and delivery information.
Maintain accurate project information across Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, Airtable, or similar tools.
Prepare concise status reports, dashboards, and leadership updates.
Risk, Issue & Dependency Management
Proactively identify and track project risks, issues, dependencies, resource constraints, and service impacts.
Drive follow-up and resolution of open actions across participating teams.
Maintain risk, issue, and decision logs and ensure appropriate escalation.
Coordinate mitigation and contingency plans for critical milestones, maintenance windows, cutovers, and launches.
Support retrospectives and post-implementation reviews to identify opportunities for process, reliability, and execution improvements.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
4+ years of experience in technical project management, project management, delivery management, or a related role.
Experience managing technology projects involving multiple infrastructure, engineering, security, operations, application, and business teams.
Strong experience building and maintaining project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, and risk registers.
Experience coordinating cloud infrastructure, network, data center, workplace technology, or enterprise platform delivery.Working knowledge of Agile, Scrum, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
Strong organizational and follow-through skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, Airtable, or comparable project management tools.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, networks, data centers, site reliability, or platform operations.
Familiarity with infrastructure technologies and practices such as compute, storage, networking, identity and access management, observability, automation, backup, and disaster recovery.
Experience supporting production launches, platform migrations, data center or cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades, or cutover readiness.
Experience working with Portfolio Management, PMO, or centralized planning functions.
Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP and modern infrastructure practices such as infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and site reliability engineering.
Experience in media, entertainment, sports, news, streaming, or digital publishing environments.
PMP, Certified ScrumMaster, SAFe, cloud, or infrastructure certification preferred.
