Tips for Your Virtual Sales Representative Job Search
Quantify your pipeline and conversion numbers
Your resume needs to show closed revenue, conversion rates from demo to close, and average deal size. Virtual sales hiring managers screen fast, and candidates who lead with specific outcomes get called back far more often than those listing duties.
Highlight your home office setup upfront
Many virtual sales postings screen for a distraction-free workspace and reliable high-speed internet. Call out your setup in your cover letter or summary section so recruiters don't have to guess whether you can handle daily video calls and screen-share demos.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists virtual sales representative openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Target postings by the CRM tool named
If a job listing names Salesforce, HubSpot, or another CRM as required, make sure that exact tool appears in your skills section. Applicant tracking systems often filter on tool names before a human ever reads your resume.
Prepare a recorded mock discovery call
Some virtual sales interview processes include a recorded pitch or live role-play over video. Practice a two-minute discovery call for a fictional prospect and be ready to run it cold. Knowing your opening questions and objection-handling script in advance gives you a real edge.
Negotiate base, quota, and OTE together
When an offer comes, ask for the quota attainment rate across the team before accepting. A high on-target earnings figure means little if fewer than half the reps hit quota. Use that data to negotiate a lower ramp quota or a higher base during your first cycle.
Virtual Sales Representative Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most virtual sales representatives?
The companies hiring the most virtual sales representatives right now include Comcast, Syneos Health Commercial Solutions, and サイネオス・ヘルス, with the largest share of openings in Texas, Arizona, and Pennsylvania, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Industries with the highest volume of postings tend to be SaaS, insurance, and financial services.
How many virtual sales representative jobs are remote?
About 95% of virtual sales representative openings are fully remote or hybrid as of August 2026, making it one of the more remote-friendly sales roles available. Inside sales, SDR, and account executive positions within SaaS and insurance are the sub-areas where fully remote arrangements are most common.
How do you become a virtual sales representative?
Start by building foundational sales skills through an entry-level inside sales or customer service role where you handle phone or chat-based interactions. Learn a major CRM platform well enough to manage a pipeline and log activity consistently. Practice delivering product demos over video, develop a reliable home office setup, and assemble a resume that leads with revenue outcomes rather than job duties.
Can you get a virtual sales representative job with no experience?
Yes, many employers hire entry-level virtual sales representatives and provide structured training. Focus your application on roles with titles like sales development representative or junior account representative, which typically require less prior experience. Highlight any customer-facing work, even from retail or hospitality, and show that you're comfortable communicating confidently over phone and video before your first call with a hiring manager.
What does the virtual sales representative interview process look like?
Most processes start with a brief phone screen, followed by one or two video interviews covering your sales approach and past performance. Many employers then ask you to complete a role-play exercise where you run a mock discovery call or handle a common objection live on camera. Final rounds often include a conversation with a sales manager or director focused on quota attainment history and your process for managing a remote pipeline.
Where can I find and apply to virtual sales representative jobs?
You can find and apply to virtual sales representative jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from across the United States. Search for roles that match your experience level and specialization, then apply directly to each listing that fits your background.
