Which investment management companies sponsor E-3 visas in Florida?
Raymond James, headquartered in St. Petersburg, is one of Florida's largest investment management employers and has a history of sponsoring skilled foreign workers. BlackRock, Voya Financial, and Northern Trust operate Florida offices that have filed for specialty occupation visas. Boutique wealth management firms and hedge funds concentrated in Miami's Brickell financial district also periodically sponsor E-3 visa holders for qualifying roles.
Which cities in Florida have the most investment management E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Miami leads the state, particularly the Brickell and Coconut Grove areas, which house regional headquarters for global asset managers and private equity firms. Tampa and St. Petersburg are strong alternatives, anchored by Raymond James and a cluster of registered investment advisers. Orlando has a smaller but growing financial services presence, and Fort Lauderdale attracts wealth management firms serving high-net-worth clients in South Florida.
What types of investment management roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Roles that generally qualify are those requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field, such as financial analyst, portfolio analyst, quantitative analyst, investment research associate, risk analyst, and compliance analyst. These positions typically require specialized knowledge in finance, economics, or mathematics. General relationship management or sales-oriented roles with no specific degree requirement are less likely to meet the specialty occupation standard for E-3 purposes.
How do I find investment management E-3 sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find investment management roles in Florida where employers are open to E-3 sponsorship. You can filter specifically by visa type and state, which removes the guesswork of approaching firms that don't sponsor. Miami-based asset managers and Florida wealth management firms are well represented on the platform, making it practical to target your search by city and role type within the investment management sector.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in investment management?
Florida has no state income tax, which affects how employers structure compensation packages and may influence how firms approach the prevailing wage requirements embedded in the Labor Condition Application process. Miami's strong concentration of Latin American and international capital means many investment management firms there regularly hire multilingual professionals with cross-border expertise, which can make Australian candidates with international experience a reasonable fit for certain roles. Licensing requirements like the Series 65 or CFA may also be expected alongside the E-3 application.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 investment management jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
