Which healthcare companies sponsor E-3 visas in Florida?
Florida's largest health systems have established sponsorship infrastructure for international workers. AdventHealth, HCA Florida (formerly HCA Healthcare), Jackson Health System, Baptist Health South Florida, and Orlando Health are among the employers that have historically filed work visa petitions for healthcare professionals. Hospital networks tend to have dedicated HR and immigration teams, making them more likely to support E-3 applicants than smaller private practices.
Which cities in Florida have the most healthcare E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Miami leads due to its concentration of major hospital systems and academic medical centers, including Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami Health System. Tampa and Orlando are close behind, driven by large regional health networks and strong population growth. Jacksonville also has notable hiring activity through Mayo Clinic's Florida campus. Rural and regional markets exist but sponsoring employers are less common outside these four metros.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it must normally require at least a U.S. bachelor's degree or equivalent in a specific field. In healthcare, this generally includes registered nurses with a relevant degree, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, medical technologists, health informatics specialists, and clinical researchers. Roles where a general degree is sufficient or where on-the-job training replaces formal education are less likely to meet the specialty occupation standard.
How do I find healthcare E-3 sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find healthcare roles in Florida that are open to E-3 sponsorship. The platform filters jobs by visa type and state, so you can search specifically for E-3-eligible healthcare positions across Florida without having to screen out employers who won't sponsor. This saves significant time compared to applying broadly and asking about sponsorship only at the interview stage.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for healthcare E-3 applicants?
Florida requires independent state licensure for most licensed healthcare professions, including nursing and physical therapy. Your Australian qualifications will need to be assessed by the relevant Florida licensing board before you can practice, and this process can take several months. Employers typically require proof that licensure is in progress or already granted before extending an offer. Starting the Florida licensing process early, ideally before your job search, puts you in a much stronger position with sponsoring employers.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 healthcare jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
