Which trucking companies in Florida commonly sponsor work visas?
Large logistics companies with Florida operations like Knight-Swift Transportation, Ryder System, FedEx Ground, and UPS frequently sponsor visas for specialized roles. Port-adjacent companies in Miami-Dade and Broward counties often need bilingual logistics coordinators and operations managers. Regional carriers serving Florida's agricultural exports also sponsor for fleet management and specialized transport positions.
How to find trucking visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate specializes in connecting international candidates with Florida trucking companies that sponsor work visas. Focus on logistics hubs near PortMiami, Port Everglades, and JAXPORT where international freight creates higher demand for multilingual talent. Companies handling perishable goods from Florida's agriculture industry also frequently sponsor for specialized logistics roles.
What visa types are most common for trucking roles in Florida?
H-1B visas are typical for logistics engineers, supply chain analysts, and transportation planners at major carriers. TN visas work for Canadian and Mexican nationals in professional logistics roles. Some companies use L-1 visas for international transferees in management positions, particularly those with experience in Latin American freight operations.
Which Florida cities have the most trucking visa sponsorship opportunities?
Miami leads due to PortMiami and proximity to Latin American trade routes. Jacksonville offers opportunities near JAXPORT and major distribution centers. Tampa provides positions related to Port Tampa Bay operations. Orlando attracts logistics companies serving theme parks and central Florida distribution networks. Fort Lauderdale benefits from Port Everglades cargo operations.
Are there specific requirements for trucking visa sponsorship in Florida?
Florida trucking visa positions typically require bachelor's degrees in logistics, supply chain management, or engineering for H-1B roles. Companies often seek bilingual candidates for Latin American trade operations. Many positions require understanding of DOT regulations, international shipping documentation, and experience with freight management systems. Port security clearances may be needed for certain roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored trucking jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
