Search Automotive Jobs in IndianaAutomotive Green Card Sponsorship Jobs in Indiana: Frequently Asked Questions
Which automotive companies sponsor Green Card visas in Indiana?
Several large employers in Indiana's automotive industry have a documented history of sponsoring employment-based Green Cards. Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) in Lafayette, Stellantis operations in Kokomo, and major Tier 1 suppliers such as BorgWarner and Magna have filed Green Card petitions through PERM labor certification. Sponsorship decisions are made case by case and depend heavily on the role, the employer's needs, and internal HR policy.
Which cities in Indiana have the most automotive Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Lafayette and Kokomo are the two cities with the highest concentration of automotive Green Card sponsorship activity in Indiana, driven by major OEM facilities anchored there. Indianapolis also generates sponsorship opportunities through regional headquarters, engineering centers, and a dense network of automotive suppliers. Fort Wayne and Columbus, Indiana round out the secondary markets where Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers operate manufacturing facilities.
What types of automotive roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Indiana?
Roles that require a specific bachelor's degree or higher are most commonly sponsored. In Indiana's automotive sector this includes manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, robotics and automation engineers, supply chain analysts, and R&D specialists. Skilled trades and production-line positions are occasionally sponsored through EB-3 unskilled or skilled worker categories, but sponsorship for those roles is less common than for professional and technical positions.
How do I find automotive Green Card sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters jobs by visa sponsorship type, including Green Card, and by industry. Searching Migrate Mate for automotive roles in Indiana surfaces positions where employers have indicated sponsorship willingness, saving you from applying to roles where sponsorship is not available. Filtering by state and visa category together gives you a targeted list of Indiana-specific automotive openings.
Are there any state-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in Indiana's automotive industry?
Indiana does not impose state-level restrictions on employer-sponsored Green Cards, but the concentration of automotive work in specific counties means prevailing wage determinations under PERM labor certification are calculated for those local labor markets, not statewide averages. Employers in smaller metros like Kokomo may have different prevailing wage obligations than those in Indianapolis. The PERM process itself is federal, but local labor market conditions directly affect how an employer documents the recruitment effort required before filing.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card automotive jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
