Tips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship Jobs in Indiana
Target Indiana's life sciences cluster
Eli Lilly's global headquarters in Indianapolis drives significant EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship activity in pharmaceutical research, clinical development, and regulatory affairs. Suppliers and contract research organizations in the broader ecosystem also sponsor regularly.
Look beyond Indianapolis to secondary markets
Fort Wayne, South Bend, and Columbus Indiana have manufacturing and engineering employers who sponsor Green Cards but face less competition than Indianapolis. Smaller metros often have longer-tenured HR teams familiar with PERM-based sponsorship timelines.
Understand PERM labor certification before applying
Most Indiana employer-sponsored Green Cards require PERM certification, which can take 12 to 24 months before USCIS even sees the petition. Asking employers early about their immigration policy saves time on both sides.
Focus on roles with documented degree requirements
Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 and EB-3 requires the position to have a defined educational requirement. Roles in engineering, software development, accounting, and healthcare administration consistently meet this bar with Indiana employers.
Use Migrate Mate to filter for verified sponsoring employers
Migrate Mate lets you search Green Card sponsorship jobs in Indiana filtered by employer history and visa type, saving hours of manual research. Checking OFLC disclosure data alongside the platform helps confirm which employers have active sponsorship patterns.
Time your job search around Indiana's academic hiring cycles
Purdue University, Indiana University, and Notre Dame hire internationally for research and faculty roles under EB-1B and NIW pathways, with searches typically opening in fall. University positions often include dedicated immigration support offices.

Which industries in Indiana sponsor the most Green Card visas?
Life sciences and pharmaceuticals lead Indiana Green Card sponsorship, driven heavily by Eli Lilly and its network of suppliers and CROs in Indianapolis. Advanced manufacturing, automotive engineering, healthcare systems like Indiana University Health and Ascension, and technology employers in the Salesforce-anchored Indianapolis tech corridor also generate consistent sponsorship volume across EB-2 and EB-3 categories.
Which cities in Indiana have the most Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis accounts for the majority of Green Card sponsorship activity in Indiana, given its concentration of corporate headquarters, hospital networks, and technology employers. Fort Wayne follows with a strong manufacturing and engineering base. South Bend benefits from proximity to Notre Dame and regional healthcare employers, while the northwest Indiana corridor near Chicago captures some overflow from that metro's sponsoring companies.
What types of roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Indiana?
Roles requiring a specific bachelor's degree or higher qualify most reliably for EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship. In Indiana, this most commonly includes software engineers, mechanical and electrical engineers, pharmaceutical scientists, research analysts, registered nurses, physical therapists, and finance professionals. Positions at large employers with established immigration programs are more likely to move forward with PERM-based sponsorship than smaller companies.
How do I find Green Card sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, letting you filter Green Card sponsorship jobs in Indiana by industry, role type, and employer. Beyond the platform, cross-referencing the Department of Labor's OFLC disclosure database confirms which Indiana employers have filed PERM applications recently, giving you a verified list of active sponsors to prioritize in your outreach.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
