Which hospitality companies sponsor H-1B visas in Indiana?
Full-service hotel operators are the most active H-1B sponsors in Indiana's hospitality sector. Properties affiliated with Marriott International, Hilton, Hyatt, and IHG in Indianapolis have filed Labor Condition Applications for roles including food and beverage managers, executive chefs, and hotel operations managers. Large convention and resort properties are more likely to sponsor than smaller independent hotels, which rarely have the legal infrastructure to support H-1B petitions.
Which cities in Indiana have the most hospitality H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis accounts for the majority of hospitality H-1B sponsorship activity in Indiana, driven by its convention center, sports venues, and concentration of full-service hotels downtown. Fort Wayne and South Bend have smaller but active hospitality markets tied to regional tourism and university events. Bloomington, home to Indiana University, sees periodic demand for food and beverage professionals at hotels serving the campus community.
What types of hospitality roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship in hospitality requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it must normally require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Roles that commonly meet this threshold include hotel general managers, revenue managers, food and beverage directors, executive chefs with formal culinary degrees, and event operations managers. Front desk, housekeeping, and most hourly service roles do not qualify because they do not require a specific bachelor's degree.
How do I find hospitality H-1B sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by Indiana, the hospitality industry, and H-1B visa type to see roles where employers have a verified history of sponsorship. This matters in hospitality because sponsoring hotels are a small subset of the overall market, and general job boards don't surface that distinction. Searching on Migrate Mate narrows the field to employers who have actually filed H-1B petitions for hospitality roles.
Are there any Indiana-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in hospitality?
Indiana does not impose state-level restrictions on H-1B employment, but the hospitality market here is more seasonal and convention-driven than major coastal markets, which affects hiring timelines. Employers filing H-1B petitions must pay the prevailing wage for the specific role and location as determined by the Department of Labor, and Indiana's prevailing wages for hospitality management roles reflect the local cost of labor rather than national averages. Petitions filed for Indianapolis properties are processed through USCIS regardless of state.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B hospitality jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
